Hi all,
I recently bought some hot wax from my local retailer to try on myself.
I already offer waxing as a treatment but thought this may reduce discomfort particularly in sensitive areas.

I HEATED IT TO TEMP I NORMALLY USE FOR WARM WAX, CONSISTENCY LOOKED OK I THINK!

PUT ON 3/4 LAYERS IN SMALL AREA BUT STRUGGLED TO GET IT OFF WITHOUT BREAKING UP, FLAKING- MESS!

I am trained in warm waxing and wondered if I need to do another course and if so can anyone recommend (not the well known wholesalers please as any future courses i invest in I would like a recognised qualification)- no disrespect just me being extra cautious

What hot wax were you using? Hot wax doesn't heat up to the same temp as warm wax, they are usually cooler these days.Saying that though I dont know if you were using old school type hot waxes which were very hot.

As for breaking off this would be because you didn't leave your edges thick enough. They need to be nice and thick so you can pick a little bit then get a nice firm grip and pull off quickly.I know some people use a thin piece of wax strip for leaverage but if your application is correct you shouldn't need to do this.

You do need training in hot wax/non strip wax, otherwise you wont be covered by your insurance. It's a totally different application technique to warm wax.

Peron Rigot,Berins,Gigi,Hive are a few.HTH

Thanks for quick reply.
It was salon System Brazilian Hot Wax as I use their other waxes with no problems.
Thanks for the tip about insurance though as I would've thought I was covered.
Wouldn't do anything on a client without researching everything inc insurance!
Any other tips would be gratefully received before I take the course plunge-

How popular is it?
is it worth offering over warm wax ETC?

You shouldn't need to layer it. Try to keep your application nice and even, including the side edges (this is quite important) and use a small amount of oil underneath the wax. Let us know how you get on!

Hot waxing is popular in it's own right,I mean it has it's place for example intimate waxing. However, its about advertising correctly, knowledge in benefits and application etc .

Get yourself trained and you will understand the benefits.HTH x
