Anyone else sick and tired of this bloody weather now? It's like an air-headed Page 3 model. Lovely to look at, at first, but increasingly annoying and tiresome! :)

In the space of a week since getting back from a trip away, we've had the boiler break, the kids off school, the salon we own has been shut (and losing money!), the car won't get off the drive and NOW the French doors in our house won't close because its so cold the UPVC has warped....I didn't even know such a thing existed!!!

And theres another week to come! Arrrghh!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who's had enough now!!

All my friends are loving the snow & think i'm being a right miserable old moo, lol. Thing is, they're not the ones out of pocket cos of the bloomin' white stuff.

Clients have been cancelling left, right & centre which is not good :irked:

Roll on Spring

Also, my younger daughter started school full time this week & I had all these plans of what I was going to do. That's all gone pear-shaped!!

Oh yes had enough now - I want to get out and see clients but its pretty pointless as a lot of places are closed :irked:

i vote for it to go too.

ive lost out on over £100 worth of treatments this week and my diary is too full to get them in next week instead. thank heavens most of my ladies have struggled through.

on the radio whilst i was with a client it said that only take journeys if they are a matter of life or death. and my client said that she was justified because if all my clients cancelled i wouldnt earn any money to spend on food, thus putting my family at risk of death by starvation:lol:

I cant believe how bad this weather is! It just wont stop! I've not been able to make it to the motorway because there's been no gritting and I've had to abandon my car twice trying desperately to get to work... I paid £125 for my road tax on Xmas Eve (what for?) And I've been snowed in since 22nd of December so wont have any wage this month, if they cant be bothered gritting major roads then they should provide some kind of temporary loan because as it stands I cant afford to live :( the whole situation makes me want to cry!!

Yep had enough now, probably could get the car out if I really was mad but not sure my little punto is up to it! Can't get the work either and even if I could schools closed and can't see them opening early next week either!

Your 'all comes at once' nightmares sound like our past couple of months where too many things happen in such a short space of time, we are lucky! like that too!!!!

Hope the boiler is sorted and just needs a repair and not replaced! We had that the other year, packed up two weeks after we moved in in December and needed completely replacing! That on top of the deay late completion because our buyer of our old house was £25,000 short costing us another £1,000 for interest and removal men! Fortunately it was nowhere near as cold as this so hope you are managing to keep warm.

Off for a walk to Tescos shortly running out of supplies, wish me luck.

Totally fed up. We haven't even had that much but London has ground to a halt! Cancellations yesterday were about seven hundred quids worth and we are looking at about the same amount today. All the roads round here are clear except the side roads but people are not venturing out. A complete bloody joke.

We live just outside Watford in Hertfordshire. Side roads are a nightmare, still very deep snow, the main roads are driveable but main pavements are deadly.

My friend broke her arm yesterday morning and was told at hospital she was the 19th broken arm they had had that morning! I have not ventured out as I had a dream last weekend I would hurt my knee really badly. I have had weird premonitions before and they have come true. (No I am not a spooky weird woman honestly.........I am just one of these people who looks at snow and falls on her bum)

All my Clients have cancelled this week, I am home based. Thought I would take the opportunity to file my SA tax return - can't even do that as I have cocked up log in details. I am thinking about putting the Christmas tree back up, getting a large box of chocs and watching the Sound of Music.

More to come on Sunday, take care everyone.:green:

Defo had enough! As some of you might have seen on the news fife council managed to run out of grit  Even though they got some emergency and a delivery they are only griting main roads, all the pavements and all side streets are like ice rinks and even black ice on the main roads, oh and apparently the temp is so low the grit wont do anygood  To boot idiotic drivers drivin up my rear, I really wonder how stupid some folk are!!
I feel so bad if I cant get to a client but I'm not risking writing off my car rant over lol xx

ive had to cancel 2 clients for tommorow as not got hair i ordered on tuesday yet and paid next day delivery

soooo not happy..
yesterday i had to iceskate to my postbox to post a letter:)

My client said she saw a comment on someone's Facebook which made her laugh " Snow - it's so last week . . . "

My sentiments exactly. And I usually love any excuse to have a day off.
I wish it would all go back to where it came from and we could start making money again.

I have always maintained that snow is for Christmas cards and the Alps, where people who are so inclined can go and pay to slip and slide on the damn stuff. It isn't fun, it isn't pretty and causes untold hardship to the masses, even to the point of death in some cases. I hate it!!

im with you on this one

my salon had to shut for two days..... had cancellations all over the place.
My brother smashed his van up brought another car same day and wrote that off in the same place (outside his work place) the very next day with 9 other cars doing exactly the same thing .

My kids have been off school for another week and now they still not going back in on monday either and my son has exams on thursday.......
Kids should be in school they reckon its a health and safety issue but ive seen kids sledging and skating on ponds that is a health and safety issue if they were in school they would be safe. A friend of ours took his neice sledging and ended up in surgery due to a broken tibia.

sick to the back teeth of snow ice and going sideways down my street lol

Enough already with the snow!

I've been holed up for a week but we've had snow since before christmas.

I've cancelled all my appointments this week, would rather be save in the house that risking my life and my car!

I'm hoping to get to work next week as have appointments in mon, tue, wed and sat which will make up for a week of no money.

its snowing! [shaking my fist at the window].

But, we are warm, we are safe, we have food.

I love the snow as much as the next person but ice i detest!

Lucky for me, i live across the road from my salon, unfortunately my clients don't so most are cancelling rather than take the risk of driving. Don't get me wrong, i don't blame them.

Sick of walking like a penguin and waddling along trying not to fall on my backside.

I am also getting worried about income....aaaah.

On the bright side, i've been able to spend extra time with the family and 've been able to catch up on my paperwork etc. So thats the plan, snow is supposed to be heavy this weekend so i will do as much of my paperwork as is humanly possible so when i go back to work it will be all steam ahead!

Keep safe everybody x
