Hello everyone

I wasat my friends lastnight and she had been to a wedding last week and someone she knew there was telling her she had had a spray tan and it was shimmery. My friend said it was lovely.

Has anyone ever heard of this and do they know where to get it? Does it exist? I thought that a shmmering effect would wash off???

Thank you for any replys x

Most shimmer effects are due to ingredients such as mica or polyethylene terepthalate - neither of these will react with the skin like the DHA and erythulose in spray tan would. The shimmer effect comes from small solid particles which sit on the surface of the skin and reflect light. They would highly likely wash off with the spray tan guide colour.

The manufacturers would also need to pay great care to the formulation to ensure that it did not clog up the spray gun. As I know from experience from friends who have done airbrush body painting - paints with a greater amount of solid pigment in suspension are more prone to clog up the airbrush!

Hi

Tantrick do a Shimmer Party Gel to apply after your tan (after the first wash off) to enhance your tan and give you a golden glow!

go to www.wowproducts.co.uk for more info and prices.

Hiya, the shimmer will just be in the guide colour.St Tropez used to do one, but they discontinued it, as the mica reacted with the DHA and stopped the DHA working.

Vani-t do a product called Bronzed Goddess. It's an organic airbrush shimmer, looks fab if you spray on once your tan has developed. Its also really hydrating on the skin and stays put until you have a shower.hth xx

thanks for your replys guys. I like a bit of shimmer myself so think i migt try the products you have recommended xx

Solglo do a shimmer solution. It's not a tanning solution though. You would only be able to apply this after washing off your tan. They have silver or gold and it really does stick to your skin so wont hardly rub off on your clothes. You can even put it in your hair
xxx

oooh thhat sounds good, do you ue solglo solution? Is it good? x

Fake Bake also do a shimmer spray called Mistifier, used as a moisturiser after the guide colour is washed off. I sprayed Alex with it when I'd run out of Silky Solution; he didn't appreciate having a shimmery winkle!

hahaha, im totally loving that post above. I cannot get my wayne to even get a spray tan never mind a shimmer lol xx

You tell your Wayne, he doesn't know what he's missing, my rugby playing, ex heavy weight boxer who's an ex army man loves his mani's and pedi's and is currently wearing a 12% suntanna full tan. So stop wimping and get his body out:smack::green:

hehe, Wayne does get manicures and working on a building site all day he adores getting pedicures. I think he is secretly desperate to get a tan coz he keeps asking questions about it but i think he is afraid of what the other workies would say lol xx

Bully him into having his white bits done  then he can see how natural it looks and that the workies won't know. Men:rolleyes::green:
