Hiya,

Recently ive been having so many problems with tanning it seems like hardly anyone is ever happy in the last week 3-4 people have not liked their tans!

1.A couple come for a tan and both of them had patches on their arms and her partner had a white finger dont get how this happened?

2. My sister had a tan last weekend and she said she had patches on her arms too

And yesterday i sprayed the salon owner that i work in and i rang her today and asked her hairdresser if she liked her tan but instead of the owner answering yes or no she said ill call her back which obviously means its bad news!

I always make sure i cover the arms 100% at every angle possible i dont understand what the problem is, or maybe its the brand of solution im using? Its getting me down!

please help

Oh no poor you hun.

What brand are you using? I'm not sure it could be that though as its on a few different clients. With regards to the patches on the arms, are you holding the gun at a different angle as it could be that no solution is being sprayed out from that angle. That has happened to me before but I always check the client afterwards so noticed it straight away. Either that or they all have dry patches on there arms.

Sorry I'm not that much help but check the angle that may help. xx

Am i confusing you with someone else,
aren't you going to be teaching spray tanning for couture ?

Have you been to see the 'patches'? Have you changed solutions?
Where on the arms are the patches and what do they look like?
Sorry chick it's just hard to say what it could be without seeing them xxx

Im completely confused her as I thought you were just recently appointed as a Couture trainer....this would/should mean you would/should have received additional training ?

I somehow don't think its the solution and merely one of application that is causing these problems for you.

How close are you holding the gun,how much solution are you applying and are your customers being informed about pre tan exfoliation etc?

Oh and just because the salon owner said she would ring you back that doesn't mean necessarily bad news..she might have simply been busy.

Just an idea which may help you is to perhaps get yourself booked back into whomever did your training and get some additional top up training as by the sounds of things your suffering from lack of confidence and some usage that's all...we've all been there so don't worry..things come to those who try hard..re education is a good thing as it will help you no end in boosting your confidence...the rest will follow naturally in time

Yes i am bu unsure what to do now because i don't know if its the lotion or not?

Haven'T seen any of them yet will be seeing the couple tonight she explained that on her, her thumb hadn't had any tan on it and was white she said she had patches on her arms. I asked her if she had let any water on her she said no, but she had a tan two weeks ago and she moaned that it went wrong and again her partner as well.

I just spoke to the lady who owns the hairdressers that i work at and she said her legs are patchy and she has like a triangle shape that's white god knows how that happened? they all say they haven't done anything after their tans

I'm so confused its not the clients, its either me or the solution. The way i tan is this:

I spray across the back all the way down to the knicker line
I then spray the bum if there is any showing
I then spray downwards on their legs three stripes
I ask the client to face sidewards and i spray down the side of their leg in 2 stripes
I ask the client to stretch out their opposite leg and i spray the inside 3 stripes
Same again for the other side
I then ask them to lift their arms and i spray all from their wrist to the knicker line in two stripes and again on the other side
I ask the client to face sidewards whilst stretching out their arm fingers spread wide and face facing the other way i spray in 2-3 stripes from their neck all the way down to finger tips.
I then ask the client to stretch her arm outwards so i get to spray the inside of their arm i do this in 2 stripes
I then ask them to bend their arm so i get to spray the back of their arm and their elbow area in 1-2 stripes.
Same again with other arm
I then spray across their belly, chest and shoulders, neck
and then down 3 stripes down their face left, middle and right.

That's my whole routine, is it me??
xx

I would take your gun apart and give it a good clean. Sometimes it's something as simple as your gun needing a clean.
I would clean your gun and see how it goes after that as you haven't had any problems before

I have arranged for Anne to come wednesday to have additional training to become a trainer.
I do always tell my clients about the pre care and that they need to follow this in order to recieve a nice even tan. I did speak to salon owner and it was bad news :irked:

What confuses me is that ive been doing tanning for 2 years and obviously ive had some complaints before but not as much as now so i dont understand :irked:

Have you only recently switched solutions as it seems from what your saying that for the last few years everything has been fine till now?

Babe your routine has obviously worked for you in the past so i'm sure it's not that. Is it looking even after you have sprayed them? I usually get them to come out of the tent to check them over.
Could it be that in certain areas you are not pulling the trigger back tight/ hard enough?
What I would do is dismantle the gun, clean it out properly and turn your dial off.Give the solution a good old shake. Put your solution in and start again. Gradually turn it up and spray onto some couch roll. Grab one of your mates and try again. It sounds to me like it's your gun. There's probably a build up of solution that's occasionally blocking it... hence the patches.
Give it a go hun and see what happens xxx

No havent switched been with couture for the whole time
But you sent me solutions for tantrick and i tanned my mum and it didnt turn out all that well ( but you sent me a 12% and 5% and strawberry one and i mixed them all up to make allot of solution so i rekon thats why)

And again at one point i used sunless solutions and that come out awful but then others used it and never had problems.

Perhaps it is me then?

OMG..please please don't mix these all together..they are completely different formulations..we go to a lot of trouble to formulate different solutions to offer different options to therapists.

This is a bit like mixing tea and coffee together and being disappointed by the taste outcome

PMSL:lol::lol:

Whyyyyyyyyyyy on earth would you waaannttt to mix them all together??   OMG!!

I think that some of the problem you are having may be with your routine, you say that you 'spray twice down the leg' for example..

I dont count the number of sprays I do, I just spray across whatever bit i'm doing until it's covered and then I repeat in the opposite direction to ensure even coverage.

What if the client is larger than most? surely 2 sprays down the leg wouldn't be enough to cover the whole area??

How much solution are you using per client on average?

How close to them are you spraying?
