Hi guys my partner is a body builder and has got me an appointment for a party of 6, 2 wives and 4 male body builders  (some might say Lucky You).
What I wanted to know is, is there any particular way in which I should spray these guys. I am worried about their arms ( back of and biceps ) as when I have sprayed my partner as his upper arms are so big and the contours are different to lets say arms with not so much muscle. I find I get over spray near his arm pit back & front and find it difficult to get full coverage on the under arm without over spray on the rest of the arm, a bit similar on the inside thighs. Any advice would be appreciated please.

No idea about technique, but if you can use some Booster drops to get a really dark tan once you have the technique perfected you have a great market there! Bodybuilders are very big on fake tans - particularly if they compete but it does have to be *very* dark for them.

where can you get booster drops from?

Thanks for your comments Yes your right BIG market lots of portential. I use Sienna and have 4 shades so think I will use 10% on fair hair and 12% on dark haired what do you think? How do you use the booster drops if I were to get some and do you have to use same brand booster drops as solution?

Like us most brands sell booster drops and if im not mistaken so does Sienna x.

There is a little trick you can do with body builders if you have a small airbrush as well as your HVLP.

Spray them with say a 10% all over with the HVLP and then take an airbrush with a 12% and use this to create darker areas so as to accentuate the musscle...they love it!!!

It takes a bit of practise but if your old man is a body builder then you have the ideal person to practise on.

Not completely sure on other brands concentrate percentage so I can only help you with ours which is a 35% concentrate.(I think most are generally between 30-35%)

Simply add one small drop per 100ml solution to increase the DHA percentage +1%

So if you use a 12% and want to create a 14% equivilent...fill a gun pot with 100ml solution...add two small drops and you have a 16%...spray and then put any left over solution into a sealed bottle with the customers name on it and hey presto your customer has his/her own unique blend that you simply use each time they come in

Thanks Colin yes I am hoping to have a go with my partner on muscle definition if he is brave enough. I do have an airbrush & compressor would I have to use my compressor or can I buy an attachment so I can just take the one machine around with me but have two application guns? Do you know of any courses that concentrate solely on muscle definition? Would be worth looking in to. Will do the party at the moment with what I have in stock as the guys are doing a charity calender so not wanting their tan for competition but think I might get some booster drops after Christmas.
Thanks again. Your always very helpful. xx

If its something you think there is a demand for get in lots of practice, work out your own little ways of doing it and then offer your own courses! ;o)

i agree with Matt..you basically have all the ingredient's all ready..you as a qualified experienced spray tanner, your boyfriend who would be the ideal model for you as well as an airbrush system...what are you waiting for...have a go and with time be the first to write and get a course accredited as i am not aware there are any in existence currently

Am I reading this wrong??

opps yep ..it would make a 14%

Sienna dont do darkening drops, we offer quite an extensive range of solutions that we hope you wont have to use darkening drops. One slip of the hand with that pipette of darkening drops you can ruin a whole batch of solution.

I work quite closely with body builders and find it better to spray them in 12.5% on 2 consecutive days, that way you are building up a more intense tan without running the risk of turning them orange.

A tip with body builders it once you have sprayed them put a piece of couch roll under their armpit between their pecs and biceps so that they dont get a nasty dark splodge on the inside of their arms.

Watch my handy work on The Gladiators on Sky 1 starting next month

if you sprayed on two consecutive days how would you charge for that? bearing in mind that I am mobile so have to take travelling into account.... :|

think maybe you should post some pics once you have sprayed them...for research on the product colour of course..heehee..sorry could not resist..x

If I spray people on 2 consecutive days i charge half of the original cost for the second tan, for example if you normally charge £20 for a tan, charge £30 for a tan including a top up. The top up has to be done 24-48 hours after the initial one coz anything after that the original tan has started to fade ,
