:) Hi everyone, This is my first post although I have been reading for weeks. It a fantastic site. I have started being mobile again after having my little girl. This site has really helped me get some new idea's to get my confidence back. It was such a long time ago iI trained, you start to feel a bit out of touch with things. So thanks a million to you all, I'm also doing a 121 with Kim soon which i'm really excited about.
Sorry to go on!!:o
My question is has anybody had skin coloured tattooing done over there scars after surgery?? Ihad a breast lift about 1 1/2 yrs ago. I'm really pleased with the result but I scar quite badly. It takes ages for the colour to fade, and they are slightly raised in places. I was interested to know if anbody has had this done or could recomend something to help.
Loads of thanks Faye.x

I asked about this last year as i have a large scar on my leg and i was told it would be really hard to colour match and when you tanned etc it would look odd.

All a tattooist could offer was to tattoo a strong colour design on top but on your breast it might look odd and there's no guarantee the colour will take to scar tissue especially as it is still relatively new.

Why not try and embrace your scars and just be happy your alive to show them off, this is how i've decided to deal with it, hard at first but it gets easier i now quite like my scars xxx

Hiya!

You don't want to be going to a tattooist, you need to find some where that does semi permanent make-up, think its called scar camouflage.
I got my boobs reduced about 4 year ago, so i probs have the same scars as you, if not a bit worse. I have used bio oil for the past 2-3 year and its faded them LOADS, the only ones you can really see is where the bone on my bra rubs.

I am getting them covered over with SPMU in the new year, not sure how long it lasts. But to be honest, they don't really bother me.

HTH

 Hi thanks for your thoughts. I dont have a massive problem with them. But after spending so much money on something, you kind of want it to be right, thats all. Where would you get spmu done hun. I keep googling but cant find anybody who does it.
Thanks again Faye.xx

I agree with both posts.....you only want to hide the scars not have a tattoo to hide them.....some tattoos will take over scars, depends how long they have been there,go to some one who knows about scars, dont get a tattoo hun xx

Hi i'm not sure if i explained properly. I dont want to put like a picture over the scars. Apparently you can have skin colour tattoo ink put into the red scar to fade it. i totally agree if it was anywhere else. But as it's an area you want to look nice, as was the reason for the lift in the first place, it's just disapointing when it's not great. It does look better with fake tan on. Which is what i do at the mo. Thanks for your reply hun.x:)

:) Thanks hun. I'm sure hey will fade one day. They are just very red still now. Thanks for the link ill have a look. I'm very happy otherwise so dont want to sound like im moaning too much.

Hiya,

Glad to hear you are back with us, we all suffer with some sort of scarring during our life.

Sadly some are worst than others, they will fade intime to a lighter shade.

Permanent Cosmetic (semi-permanent makeup is fantastic for reducing the appearance of scars, you can have them reduced by laser and IPL (intense pulse light) photo rejuvenation.

Permanent makeup cann only be effective if the scars are alot different in colour to your skin, also the ink (pigment we use) will fade, they are designed to fade intime.

If you would like some contact numbers or website, please feel free to contact me.

Ask kim about it when you have your 121, I'm sure kim offers semi permanent make up hth

That would be fab if she does. Even if it's to tell me not to bother. It would be nice to get an opinion. Am booked in to see a lady where i had my op. But it will cost £400 so wanted some advice first.
Thanks so much for your replies;)xx

Try the NHS, they offer treatments like this in burns depts and breast clinics. I'm sure you can pay private with them too.
PMU techs need to be trained in medical treatments and not just PMU to perform medical tattooing..be carefull who you choose and they also need to hhave advanced medical licensing and insurance to perform these treatments.

Nouveau Contour (Cathy Browne is a specialist in sutton Coldfield near Brimingham) she is also a breast specialist for Nouveau Contour annd donattes alot of her wok to charity on behalf of Nouveau.
Karen Betts, Permanent Cosmetic Makeup artist, permanent makeup trainer and permanent cosmetic technician UK
Debra Robson-Lawrence is top dog, ive seen her work(exspensive though) Harleyy Street location
www.permanet-makeup.com

I know Cathy does not charge the earth and is a right hand lady for Karen Betts for Nouveau Contour..one of the leading specialist for PMU in the UK.

If you would like further info log onto Karenbetts.co.uk

I saw a site the other day which offers this sort of treatment - I think it was a medical site.
