Decided to see if I could do a competition style french. Hopefully it has worked.
This is on my wrong hand.......haven't managed to do my good hand yet.
Any pointers on how to improve are more than welcome. I haven't done them as thin as comp nails, just trying the shape out.

I haven't rated as I am not really sure of the requirements for comp nails but these really are lovely I personally can`t fault them well done. x

They are fab!!! Are they a custom blend / opaque powder?

These are really good, but here is some critique.

They may be a little bit short. Remember comp. nails have to be loooooong. The smiles are nice and crisp, but have to be deeper. It's difficult to tell from the pictures, but it looks like the smiles are not consistent, they all have to be the same.

I don't know if you have competed yet, but I'll def. done it!

:hug:C.

Thank you for the compliments.
Cec thank you for the compliments and the advice.
Cheers

Someone has rated the smiles lowly, but not explained why. Could that person please let me know how I can improve my smilelines.

I was wondering that too Sheryl, I am not qualified enough to critique on these but I think your smiles are fantastic and the nails look beautiful, when I grow up I want to be like you

Lovely nails, but am I wrong in thinking that opaque powders are not allowed in comps? If you are thinking about entering comps then it might be better practice to use translucent colour as it will also affect the overall shape and balance.

Cheers,
Hazel

The nails look reall, really good sheryl!!! With regards to competions standards though i think cec is right i think they need to be longer...i think i read somewhere that they should be 50/50 pink and white....as in the same amount white as there is pink.
Have to say though that this is only what i have read so dont quote me, lol!

Smile lines to die for for - uh, if only I could!

i think your nails look amazing. Well done:hug:

cheers guys.
You're right opaque powders aren't allowed in the comps, as I said earlier I was just trying the shape, we don't really have comps down here so its just to see if I can do it, so to speak. But any info that can help me practice is much appreciated.
Cheers

Will you come do mine??

They are lovely hun

i agree the nails need to be longer. but as for your smile lines they dont have to be deeper as long as there consistent. and concealer powders are allowed in competitions, just check with the organisers as each comp can be different.

length is also something that can vary from competition to competition, they look very nice ......

i'm not really into those long fence paling nails they do in many comps.

So, ......... you may be able to use coloured powders and you may be able to vary the length ......... I guess it's time for you to enter

YOU GO GIRL !!!!!!

I can only compare to what i have seen on here but i think they look great,in comparison to the recent winners photo's like Cec said longer, much deeper smiles and you mentioned the thickness but i would say keep at it and enter asap

Thank you all for the feedback and information on the comps.
I MAY have to shoot over to Aus, if money allows, the next time there is a competition on. :wink2:
