Hi Guys i did a threading course last wk, which is damm hard. wont be offering it sraight away, lots of practice needed defo.

what are you fellow geeks charging? for eyebrows? side of face etc

I see it as a speacilist thing so would like to charge more than an eyebrow wax. at the mo i charge £7 for eyebrows and £5 for lip or chin wax. so what do you think i should charge?

thanks in advance kels x

My daughter used to go to a well known place (not sure if i can say on here). They charged her £15. each time.

i dont c why if u had the choice of threading or plucking with a £10 price difference u'd go with threading..

There will always be clients who perceive that one treatment is better than another (similar) one. I have several clients who are desperate for me to finish the threading course despite the fact that I offer both tweezing and waxing. As an aside I hate the term "plucking"; it puts me in mind of turkeys or harps!
As has been mentioned here already threading is jolly difficult to master and clients will pay for that specialist expertise.
I'm thinking of offering a hybrid treatment, mixing techniques from all three variants, with a price to reflect the skills involved.

Re: pricing. I would have a squint at the prices of your local competition and park yourself somewhere in the middle.

There is no one in my immeadiate area the closest is 30 mins away 40 mins away in debenhams of house of frasier.

so not sure really

xx thanks for your replys xx

OK, so what does Debenhams/House of Fraser charge?
Factor in the convenience element (they don't have to drive to get there/free parking/etc) and bring your price down by a couple of quid, et voila, you have your optimum price.

I get my eyebrows threaded and where I live there are loads of places that offer threading. Some are good and some just haven't got a clue what they're doing, they just masachre your face.
I use to pay £9.00 in what i thought was a top salon but turned out it wasn't. I now pay £5.00 for an amazing job. Paid £12 in Debenhams in London before which I thought was way in excess.

My advice is don't start too high just yet as in time you could hike your prices up as you get better and quicker. (I'm not saying charge a fiver because if you're the only one in the area who offers it then you're already at an advantage!)

I charge £7.50 for threading brows or £5 for waxing them

Hi..

I charge £10 for eyebrows, £10 for top lip, £5 for chin and £35 for the whole face..If you are good people will pay for you to do them.

I find that the people that come to me don't want a rush, quick 'in and out' treatment, they said it hurts too much and they feel ripped off.

Hope this helps..x

Hi,
It really depends on your area, and local competitors pricing.
You could offer an introduction price (maybe the same as your waxing prices) while you are getting you speed and practise up then when feel fully competant increase your prices.
It costs pennies to do so its really what you want to earn for your time.
I work in East Ham and threading is very popular and offered very cheaply so therefore I only charge £3.50 for eyebrow thread (which is higher than the local shops that offer it) eyebrow wax £4.50.

I pay £13 per time but the ladies who do it do an excellent job and I have very dark brows and I think its worth every penny, they have also just done an offer for £50 you can get 6 treatements if you pay upfront and I thought that was a bargain!!
