I'm looking to restock my spats and wondered if anyone uses Wax Master ones from Ellisons. The reason I ask is because they are significantly cheaper than Mercia ones from Sallys, and call me cynical, but I'm suspicious about that. How do they compare, quality wise?
Thanks awfully!

I use Wax Master spatulas! Personally, i think a spatula is a spatula! They are just as good as any other spatula. They were on special last time i bought them so i bought boat loads-lol
Also Salonserve spatulas are cheap too and if Wax Master ones aren't on special next time then i will get the ones from Salonserve :)

I use these spatulas and have to say I've not noticed any difference in quality compared to dearer spatulas. I agree with angelina- a wooden spatula is a spatula!

Ooh I have to disagree :irked:

I absoulutly love Gigi spatulas especially the ones with the straight edge as they are thicker and just feel fantastic quality.

Out of interest I will buy a pack from salonserve when I place another order - How much are they?

Love Emma x:hug:x

Thats interesting that people think a spatula is a spatula. I'm fussy when it comes to spatulas. Dont you find some of them more flimsy than others? The cheap ones are annoying when you try and split them for eyebrow wax. Or have I just been an unlucky spatula person? lol xxx

The wax master spatulas i recieved had a slight indentation down the middle of them so they seem ever so slightly curved! They also seemed very thin (compared to the last box i had from the whole salers) which i personally don't like and they also felt rougher than the other spatulas i use. I only brought the 1 box so i'm not to bothered.

I also like the GIGI spatulas although they are slightly more on the expensive side in comparison with others, i like their small spatulas with a slanted edge for doing eyebrows aswell.

I use Wax Master spats and find them totally fine. If I was using the same spatula for a whole leg then it might get a bit annoying as they are a little on the thin side, but to be honest I find them perfect for all my waxing as I don't double dip with any intimate waxing and facial waxing.. and legs I would probably use it for quarter leg then replace and I find they don't bend and snap while applying. They certainly feel firm enough for applying wax in all areas.

I have tried the salon serve and they are ok too but a little thinner in width.

The Wax Master spats are on special at the moment and I believe they are 69p for a box at Ellisons, bargain.

.....annoying when you try and split them for eyebrow wax.

I also go with the spatula is a spatula thing.

But I buy the small spatulas made for eyebrows. Nice and smooth and the right size without splitting. Looks profesional as well. I get mine from Salonserve, they also sell headless matchsticks, but hide them in their price list. I find with all three types in my tray I can take anything on! Not sure about prices. I need to order early next week so I will see.

I tend to stick with the Hive spatula's, I like the size and quality. And they are a consistent price.

I have to admit, I've often thought of starting a distribution business called Sticks & Strips that just specialises in supply of high quality spatula's and paper strips and the best prices. The prices of strips in some places is shocking!

SalonServe currently have sticks at 64p for 100 and strips at £1.39 (10pks), £1.29 (50pks), £1.19 (100pks).

No idea of the quality.

As long as the spat's got a finished edge - rather than a rough squared edge - I'm a happy chap.

I bought some in bulk from a popular auction site - great service - quality is about 98% (really flimsy one every pack or so).

I know what you mean hun. I bought a whole bundle of them and have to agree it does look much more professional but I cant get on with anything else. I tried the end of an orange wood stick and it seemed to take forever. Maybe im too fussy lol.Oh you have to love salon serve though!!! xxx

I use them and find them great...i do find occasionally that some are hard to split but generally on the whole do the job i want :)
