Hi everyone , my first posting on here, so bear with me, i have been using roller wax for the last 9 months, initially it was fantastic, but of late it doesnt seem to be so good, now i find it seems thick, difficult to roll and sometimes difficult to remove the hair. also can leave paper strip behind. (i bought some cloth strips) i don't use alot, mainly lip/chin/eyebrows. occasional leg wax, any advice would be appreciated. sincerely jenniferlouise x

If you have changed the wax you use it could be that,
if you are finding it is harder to roll and coming out thickly sounds like it could be too cool, try turning it up just a small bit but always test on yourself before applying to clients, hth

Also make sure you are keeping your heads really clean and completely wax free always clean directly after use and use a fresh cleaned one each client.Run it down a paper strip to get it flowing before you start to wax.

Do you have a roller wax heater with several different size applicators?

If you heat and cool the wax too many times, it thickens over time. For example, if you mainly do facial waxing with the smaller heads, but heat up all the applicators every time.

If you are only doing a brow wax, just leave the smallest 2 applicators in and remove the larger ones before you switch the heater on.

Also try having the setting a bit higher and roll the wax onto your hand/wrist before you start to get it flowing and test the temperature.

If you are still struggling, contact the manufacturer as it could be a fault with the heater.

thanks for the replies, yes i was wondering that , i do keep heads very clean and check temp on myself and client,,, tho. perhaps better to buy fresh stock.xx

Turn it up so it's at it's hottest and give it a good clean. Then make sure that your wax is always nice and hot. Better still, change to a pot and spatula. xxx
