Hi Geeks

I having been using calgel for around a year now and i love the gel and have just about every colour that they have, but my clients are getting fed up of the colours and are asking for something different.

I have looked into converting to bio sculpture as they do a bigger range of colours than calgel but to convert and get a starter kit it is going to be neary £500 which i cannot afford at the min.

Just wondered what other brand soak off gels you geeks use that you can recommend ;)

If your clients are happy with the system then I think it is silly to think of changing because a few are 'fed up'.

There are ways of achieving/adding new colours other than changing to a whole new system.

You can try layering or using different effects over the colours you already have, to give you loads of new options for colour. Get creative and start playing and doing some examples for them to see.

You could also look at CND Shellac as an option ... not so many colours at the moment but there are many more to come which keeps things lively and anticipation high. No need to convert either.

I've got Shellac and only got the 6 colours that came in the kit. I bought a colour wheel and had a play layering the colous. I can make so many different colours with just these 6 bottles. Definitely give layering a go.

or mix some colours up on the back of a sculpting form - thats what I do you will be surprised at some of the results! x

Do NOT mix CND Shellac colours. Shellac colours are not meant to be mixed as each is formulated separately for perfect curing. DON'T MESS WITH THE CHEMISTRY .. not if you want perfect results. Just layer as suggested with Shellac.

When I was using calgel I mixed up a few colours including a lovely pale coral it was very popular!
Now I'm using shellac its so much easier to just layer the colours than trying to mix, If you are thinking of changing systems have a look at the shellac lovers group some fab colours already and the layered ones give you so much more choice :D xx
plus it soaks off in 10 mins!

You may like to check out the soak off gels in the lechat nobility range. quite a few colours to choose from and all intermixable to create as many new shades as you wish.
if you look on my blogspot [link below] and scroll through a bit there are some photos of the colours which are a bit more accurate than the lechat colour chart.

take a look at go gel

Sorry I didn't mean shellac, I meant with your calgel x

Have you got all the new Calgel colours that they have just brought out for summer they are beautiful and really fill in some of the gaps in their colour range.
I have a few clients who also just like clear calgel to keep their nails strong and get them done super quick as its a 30 sec cure time.I sometimes then polish them if they like a particular colour and it lasts until they or i take it off if they use calcleanse it doesnt affect the gel at all.
People keep recommending shellac but i dont think it is comparable to Calgel or bio. Most of my clients come to me at first with awful nails which need a lot of strength to grow, quite often i would need to extend and you cannot do this with shellac im sure it is wondeful but i think people are going to get confused when it is constantly being mentioned in bio and calgel threads.

If you have lots of the colours, then you can make loads of different ones. I do mix colours frequently and make a note of the really popular ones.

You have no need to change to a different gel range.

Hi showson,

Calgel is great because you can mix the Calgel gels together and create unique colours (plus it's quite fun!) If you'd like a few ideas to get you started have a look at our facebook page below. There's some lovely pastel suggestions which are perfect for this summer.
