Hi all :)

Right I am turning 30 at the end of April and have always planned to have a party. I love parties! However I have started researching local pubs, hotels, venues and they range from £800-£1650!!!! I CANNOT afford that! I could keep costs down and have it in a hall but I didn't really want the hassle of tidying up after etc.

So I was trying to think of how else I could celebrate but can't think of anything. What did you do for yours? I'm hoping for some inspiration! X

What about trying a bowling club?

I had my 21st in one and only had to give a donation to the club.

Hth

Xxx

I brought home my first baby from hospital only 30th birthday, he was born 2 days before, so I was very emotional and cried all day !

Can't remember it was over 10 years ago.

The casino sounds like a great night out :) my friends go to the big one we have here. You can really dress up too if you fancy getting all dolled up in dresses and the men ib suits. :) xxx

I walked with my hubby the whole South Downs Way in 5 days (about 120 miles in total including descend to accommodation etc) It hurt and therefore it will never be forgotten haha :)

It was for charity tho!

Haha there was a very good reason. .. we'd attempted to get married three times before. Each one was cancelled due to illness or redundancy/money. I said to my husband if we're not married by the time I'm thirty that's it, we'll stay as we are. He thought I was being ridiculous but I just had that in my head. Anyway we spoke about it and I said well as every attempt so far as failed I think that if we do it on my 30th birthday we'll end up actually doing it... after all you can't cancel a birthday can you! So on the day of my 30th we had the most beautiful small intimate wedding. I rarely say this about anything, but to us the whole day was just perfect. Though we do laugh looking back because on our way to the ceremony in the wedding car with our son (who was daddy's best man) I said "I can't believe we're actually doing this". Both of us smiled, look away and then looked back and laughed because at the exact same time we said "well we haven't actually done it yet ".

The other reason is it made me forget I was turning 30 ;)

I've never been to the casino, I'd love to though. I bet it's good fun :) xxx

My husband and I went to Cornwall for a few days and loved it there, so relaxing, just the two of us, stayed in a small BB. I'm so happy we went as I have a really nice memory of my 30th.

My birthday is a week before Xmas so for my 30th a big group of us dressed as school girls - mini skirts, knee high boots, hair in pigtails (mine was waist length naturally), shirts and tie etc etc it was a fab night as loads were dressed up and out for their Xmas works do.

12yrs on and I look at the pics and remember a fab time plus I had a weeny (compared to now) size 12 body.

Make your big birthday nights memorable :)

I still haven't celebrated my 40th (despite being 2yrs past it now) I'll catch up with that one one day ;)

It depends on how much your budget is ,
You could go with you nearest and dearest for a meal somewhere you wouldn't normally go perhaps, it's awkward when your birthday is in January because everyone seems to be skint. I used to get all my mates together and we would go to the local pub and have a meal and a few drinks , I used it make a load of goodie bags up like the ones we would have at kids party's and they went down really well, and most of my mates are 30+ lol .
Casino is a fab idea.
Cocktails and a night club VIP area somewhere?
Spa day ?
A show?
An overnight stay somewhere?

Funny enough it's my 30 th next friday and my fiancé surprised me with a week in Egypt flying next Thursday so on my birthday I will be in the sun !
What ever you do I'm sure you will have a good one

For my hubby's 30th we went to Rome for a Long weekend :)

Spa day and then a big night out on the town in the evening! Maybe have a spa day/weekend with close friends and then a big night out with everyone? X

This is exactly what we did for my partner's 30th last year, was a fab night. I told everyone what time we were arriving and a stream of friends and family surprised him by arriving through the evening. It's a great night out for a group as you can all go off and do things in pairs/groups and catch up around the tables or over cocktails X

Oh I milked it as much as I could! haha.

On the actual day, I was super lucky with the weather and so my 2 best friends came over and we had a barbecue and lots of booze on my balcony. The weekend before, my parents took me and my brother and his girlfriend to go see Wicked in London then for a fancy meal at a vegan restaurant.

Then the following week, I had a joint celebration with my best friend, as we're a week apart. A big group of us went to a lovely tapas restaurant and then onto a nightclub.

For our 40th me & my best friend have decided we're having a big party and making our families/husbands (if applicable) pay for us to go to a spa for the weekend! hahaha. They've got 5.5 years to save!

I went for afternoon tea with my friends then my OH surprised me and whisked me off to Ibiza. My favorite place in the whole world. Lol
