According to the City & Guilds Happiness Index, beauty therapists are now the happiest profession in the country, and you're getting happier!

Beauty therapy now replaces hairdressing as the happiest occupation. You can read more about it here:

Beauty Guild : News - Beauty Guild

So, what do you think? Are you happy? Would you give it a 10 out of 10?

Hell yeah I am always happy every time i see my client. I actually get quite excited and cant wait to perform a treatment on them! eheheheh!!

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Happy Girl here too....I used to think people where fibbing when they said "I love my job"....I could never imagine anyone loving work....but now I know its true cos I love my job.

I do get the odd off days but thats not down to what I do...its down to maybe being tired...or just feeling a little run down....but as soon as my client comes I am able to pick it up and smile on....

I am going to say 9/10

Despite everything else which is too insignificant to mention i am a happy person:)

Really happy best job i have ever done and :Love:it...xxx

From someone who has been a pretty big earner, used to drive expensive cars, travel internationally for work weekly, had huge expense account and several people in my team................in comparison I'm absolutely ecstatic! I used to 'like' my job previously, now I love it!

I love being my own boss, in charge of my own time, success and being able to put in as much or as little as I like. If I know I need to earn a little more cash, I up the marketing a bit....not rocket science....it works!

I feel the occasional down, when a regular client stops coming, or worse....your best client ....shock horror.....loses a nail! But in general, I'd give my job a 9.9/10!

love the people :):):):):):):):):)

I love it because there is always new things to learn if you find yourself getting bored or needing an extra challenge.

Once you have your basics you can keep on adding on and there are endless opportunities in the industry from salon work, spas and health farms, self employment, teaching, training and repping,or specialising in that one thing. You can even do it to degree level if you wish.

It is also something you can continually make money at and its more adaptable if you want to have children etc.

I have always been very happy .Its never made me huge amounts of money but im sure if i had been ambitious it certainly could have.

Im Very happy.

I am doing a job I love. Combining both my teaching and beauty business is my dream, I love to help people with their ongoing progression in training and I love to see the end result when a client walks out of my salon.

This is the best job in the world and I absolutely love what I do. Im no expert and the day I am I will hang up my uniform as im always learning so can never ever see my being a expert. I love sharing knowledge as it is such a powerful tool.

Im just so love this industry it is evolving all the time in many different directions in whatever area you cover. Im also just about to launch a new business venture as well with a dear friend of mine and soo excited about that as well.

What isnt there to love about this industry!!!

NO! I work full time in a Bank and I HATE IT!!!
I love it when it's time for me to go home and I have clients to do in the evening :) although I am absolutely exhausted, it really makes me happy. Just trying to pay a few debts off and find the guts to jack the job in so I can do Beauty full time. Can't wait for that - then I'll be as happy as the rest of you geeks xxx

I'd give it a 20/10.

I love my job. I have the chance not to be a simple nail tech but also have a lot of other things to do, check, order, teach, and it's great to be me.

i like my job as i'm just in process of starting out after qualifying L2 & L3 beauty, nails and holistic ..if my clients are happy i,m happy and being my own boss at my own pace is fine for me .:)and the chance of learning lots of other new trades

Hi, Yeah I'm usually happy but we've just had a client come storming back to complain about a treatment so I'm still shaking from that at the moment!

Usually I love my job. I really like meeting people and helping women feel better about themselves - and look better too! :wink2:

Thanks Jane. I decided to remove the thread - my colleague said it made me look unprofessional! Still worried but there isn't much we can do for now. This forums so great - another reason to love what I do! (Bet nurses don't have places like this to go to!
