I remember a thread about bucket bag v's box .......... but not sure how to paste threads. lol

Have a search for it, it was a great thead x

Hiya - I have ordered a beauty box as IMO it looks tidier than having things in a bag. (I know it isn't "just" a bag..) I did research both options and read tonnes of threads on here first though! Go with what suits you. HTH Linds x

i bought a 3 tier trolly from beauty box in pink, it's fantastic, but bloody heavy to push around

Trolleys are a nightmare ... I wouldn't pay tuppence for one ... you'll see!

I wouldn't have a trolley for mobile work.

When I was mobile I had an aluminium tool case from B&Q which was less than £20 and it had handy little pockets all along the inside of the lid which are presumably for screwdrivers etc but nail files and all the rest of it fit SO WELL it is unbelievable, and you're not left scrummaging round in the bottom of bags. There are two sizes, depending on how much stuff you have.

I bought a trolley when I was training, it was good in that I had everything with me ie, gel, acrylic and wraps, along with my mani and pedi too... I was at college all day and needed it all.
Since then, I'm a mobile tech @ mo and tend to use to beauty boxes which are great. I fit everything in and they're light weight too.... also come in lots of funky colours.
If you want their website then message me and I shall pass it on.

I bought a big pink trolley thing which divides into 3 seperate cases. So at home I keep everything stored in it and then when I go to a client I just take either 1 or 2 parts of it, depending on what I need to take. I got mine from NSI for around £80 I think. It was quite pricey but for me it's been money well spent. It keeps everything nice and tidy at home and it's really useful, I wouldn't be without it. I have also seen the same one in Capital. You could probably pick up a cheap second hand one from ebay which will do the job just as well. Just do a search on ebay for beauty cases. Hope this helps x

IMO you can't beat the Bucket Bags, I use mine all of the time and wouldn't be without it.

I have a silver cantilever nail box, a red fishing tackle box and an upright (and on wheels) huge yellow/black one too, they're all redundant and don't get used anymore apart from collecting dust

ok i like having a box as we know! lol i use a bucket bag for hair stuff when i do weddings but i agree that a trolly is a nightmere i only had mine a few months and it started to fall apart the handles fell off then the stand kept braking and the whole of the case would fall over it was difficult to lift in and out of car to heavy and i would never advise anyone to buy one!!the aluminium boxes from B&Q are great and you can alter the inside so the little conpartments fit your stuff half the price of wholesale ones and exactly the same.:lol::lol::lol:

ooops i said somethin!!

I have a trolley (a two section silver trolley with a removable case as the third section). I like it very much, BUT it's required a little alteration...

The stand on the bottom is about two inches too short to be of any good - the trolley just falls over if there's anything in it. I put it upside down, drilled holes though the bottom, and screwed a wooden brace to act as a stand. So far it's working a lot better.

It fits upright in my car boot if I don't put the removable case on it. The case sits next to it in the boot and keeps it from falling over when I drive. I agree it can be heavy, but it depends on what you put in it. I like the professional look of it - I wouldn't walk into a client's home with a bunch of plastic bags!

I also have a pedi bag (with a shoulder strap), and a waxing box, as well as a portable manicure table and a massage couch. I only take in what I need - my carrycase holds all of my absolutely necessary tools and supplies, that I use for every client. Then I just grab what I need depending on the service. If I'm serving a client and they ask if I can squeeze in an eyebrow wax, it's just a quick trip to my car to grab my wax box. I also have some bungee cords that I can stick my wax box to the top of my trolley (I have a shoulder strap on my carry case so it doesn't have to go on the trolley too).

This is working well for me - I shopped around and got a good price for it, but I do agree with the other posters to check out places like B&Q. Think outside the box! Don't just shop at beauty stores - I know a tech in the States that uses fishing lure boxes for her supplies, and I store a lot of my things in the little cases the airlines give business class customers (my husband flies a lot for work). In the past, I've also used a large rolling duffel bag for supplies - the only disadvantage being the weight!!

Anything except plastic bags!!!

Ooohh they sound fab! How much are they? Just what I'm looking for! I need two!! Do they come in pink by any chance??

OK -
so will it fit a UV light? and all my other equipment, I have handbags the size of a bucket back and my husband calls me Mary Poppins and is convinced that the odd socks that go missing are all in there ... I do not want a bottomless pit... any gel techs using a 'bucket'?
cheers!

IMO there are too far too many little bottles and pots involved with nails to think about using a bag of any sort. Aren't they better travelling in something that keeps them neat and easily to hand?

My silver cantilever box does exactly that! All L+P and gel products and abreasives, dappen dishes and brushes are in there, everything else (prep products, tips, gel lamp, scrubfresh, bin, etc) are in a large holdall that's got wheels on one end.....
