I hope to next year, Id love to do the natural nails but i think it will be so so hard, hopefully one day xxxxxxxx

i would love to but ive only been doing nails for 2 mins & i wouldnt have the bottle to do it & if i got the bottle to do it i would be too drunk LOL:lol: , im more than willing to be a model for anyone who needs one though & to all the geeks that are entering comps soon GOOD LUCK xxx

I thought i would never enter! i was a bag of nerves on my first one and went along to find out what it was all about, luckily it was the first time they had the 'novice' category (we called it virgins back then) and i came first with Fibreglass!

So to sit back and think 'no, never' or maybe 'oneday' or 'in a few years'... think of what you could be doing and what your missing!! i must admit it is quite addictive once you get started!!!!

If your interested you should definately get advice, hints, & tips from people who have entered... especially people who have won... they wont bite and are more than willing to let out their winning secrets.

Trust me... i started with nothing, a bag of nerves with no preparation for my first one, and now ive won 9 comps including European nail champion.

it doesnt matter if you dont win its the sense of excitement and anticipation... your chance to achieve something by saying 'i did it' rather than 'i could have'.

now that little speech is over... if you'd like to but not sure, im also looking for models so you can see what its all about beforehand if your nails are what im looking for...

Wow, nikki, that's amazing!

Well done you and good luck for all future comps! I'm now getting really excited about GMEX in Oct but very nervous too! I'm just seeing it as biting the bullet and going for it now, otherwise I'll always be saying, I'm not ready!

Hi i am a willing model, my nails are naturally long and i wear L&p nno, im not sure what your requirements are so you will have to let me and the possible others know so we can help each other out:hug:

Just posted this on my original thread but here goes...

Ok... what i need if you are what im looking for is to be at earls court 9:00-9:30am for pre registration and briefing, comp usually starts at 10:30-11:00. comp is for 2½ hours with no toilet breaks so need someone who can hold it for about 4 hours...!! trust me... it has happened before where judging takes forever!!

Straight after end of 2½hrs judging takes place and you must ensure you are seen by ALL curtain judges before you leave or i am disqualified! judging has taken upto 3hours before so no weak bladders please ladies. lol

After judging has finished i will come get you from comp area, escort you to toilet incase buttons need help with... (these little babies are comp nails, not salon nails so they break so so easily! and you can be called back in the event of a tie so NO NAILS MUST BE BROKEN) after that i feed and water you (not litterally, basically we have lunch) have a wander round and back for presentation between 4 & 5 so it is all day thing.

Sounds like im asking for alot but trust me you will enjoy all the attention... people will grab you hands left, right and centre to have a look and you will feel like royalty!!

NOT recommended for restless poeple who get bored easily...

any more questions... just ask me. if you havent already, send me pictures so i can see them cos i havent got long left. and i wouldnt want anyone to miss out if they are perfect for the day.

I have tried to email you 3 pics of my hands and nails about 5 mins ago but im not that good on pc so not sure if they will have got to you, i think my nails might be better than my bladder though i may need a tener pad haha:hug:

I have a massively long way to go before i would ever dream of entering a competition, but who knows maybe one day!

Teri x:)

YOu didn't give an option for those who have and will but it isn't a must!! They don't hold competition in my area very often and I'd rather spend that money on actual education. Competition does provide an excellent platform for skill improvement, but I'm a little bookish, I want to know the why's and hows, not just make a beautiful nail!

I voted yes as many as I can but I have only enterd one so far as Iam not long qualifed. I can't wait until Excel. I loved the atmosphere it was great the other thing that was great was the feed back as this lets you know where your weakness lye. Mine was in my polish but I didn't have time to practise it before the comp.:irked: I was anoyed that I didn't enter the Strut your stuff comp but I was planing to do nails on the last day of entry but was unwell. Oh well theres always next time.

I would absoulutly love to enter a competition however I lack the training required.

i voted as offen as i can

i am a complete grot bag the whole month before (as that is the only time i start to practise COMP NAILS!) Then on the day i have the most mad butterflies in my stomoch

But after! its the biggest buzz ( I will do what i can to get a natural high and comps give me that so watch out gel comp peeps i am an
adrenalin junkie

I'm planning on entering at ExCel - and that will be my first comp!! I need to do some comp training really, but funds are a bit tight right now so I might just have to enter and wing it!!!! Oh well, at leat I'll learn loads, lol!!

One of my goals/dreams is to start entering comps. And eventually win them.
So I have started by getting my feet wet with strut your stuff and then the next photographic. Excel will be a biggy for me...one year lol

this is something i really want to acheive in the future maybe not this year as we are building a house , so that gives me 12 mths to get good enough for next year ,the online valentines nail comp could be a good start for me though .

I haven't gone in for any in the past as my nerves always get the better of me, but i ticked the Definitely in the future, button.

When i have done my Masters, which the last one is Thursday, then i can get loads of practice in and think about competing.

The thought sends me all nervous already and i haven't done it yet!:Scared:

Come on Wendy - get in that comp arena - you'd do great!

I entered No!
I am not confident enough for comps nor good enough I would love to be able to take part but its a big NO NO from me:cry:

Competition is a gread educational tool and a great way to improve your skills. Compteition is for everyone. Get practicing and entering and you might be surprised. Make that a big YES - it will take you to another level and it is great fun x

I totally agree with Chris here. It's really great training, you get good feedback from the judges on your score sheet but also you're able to talk to them after to see how and here you can improve. My nails have improved dramaticllay since entering competitions and now I'm completely hooked! Just go for it, you never know you might win!!
