Embarrassing Hollywood!

I had a client in today for a Hollywood wax, and when she came into the treatment she told me she'd come on her period that day and would I still be able to do it. I told her if she was happy to have it done, bearing in mind it would be more painful, I was happy to do it (although I couldn't get some of the hilarious comments out of my head that had been made on a thread about this the other week!:lol.

Anyway, I didn't think it would be a problem but when I started I noticed that "the string" was hanging out the side of her underwear but I was too embarrassed to say anything! (has this happened to anyone else?! what did you say?) So, started to put the wax on and she turned around to me and said, "oh and, by the way, i've got a piercing, just so you know" I swear I must have gone so red! And just tried to carry on as normal! :lol:

Has anyone else had any embarrassing waxing experiences like this??

personally i dont see why you found that 'embarrasing'. most women at some point have periods, if theres a string in my way, i move it! simple as. and as for the peircing, whats embarrasing about that?! I have one. Its no biggie! :green:

i think you just have to 'get over' what your doing.

6 months ago i was TECHNICALLY qualified and trained to do brazilians.....anyone asked me about them i'd POOP myself

i trained in brazillian and hollywood, and since the day i did it, i aint done one, purely cos of the state i got into on the training - the sweat was standing on my head, i felt sick, i didnt want to have to touch girly bits and oh i was so embarrassed, even now in the salon i get a sweat on if i have to do a bikini wax, i hate it. i much prefer eyebrows

Confused! If she was having a Hollywood, how did you did it with her knickers still on? That's impossible if it was a true Hollywood. It's a bit like going to get your hair cut and leaving your hat on. xxx

Just a quick question. How long should the hair be before going in for a bikini wax? I am not a beauty therapist, so have no idea. I was going to get one done before my wedding, but chickened out and settled for veet cream!!!! big big mistake! it burnt me.
also dont laugh everyone, but whats the difference between all these different waxes? hollywood etc........

It is just something that you will have to get used to if you want to offer this kind of service.... don't think about it, just do it. :green:

The shorter the better ......around 1cm or 1/4" is fine.

They're just names and they differ from salon to salon, but a Hollywood is all off and a Brazilian leaves a triangle or landing strip on the pubic mound. xx

Personally, I've seen a few strings as well. Just dont let them get in the way and wax away. Dont be embarrassed hun. You will see all sorts but at the end of the day, they are the same 'thing'.:hug:

just think....it could of been worse....the string could of accidentally got stuck onto the strip and you could of de-haired her and de-tamponed her! pmsl now THAT would of been embarrassing! lmao x

Ive seen so many womens bits now it's all just skin and hair at the end of the day.
I've also had clients in when they are on their period and I just move the string
A client did have some tissue stuck to her butt crack the other day we just laughed!!
You'll get used to it hunny. I have to say though while the weather has been warmer and my hands are moist I sometimes wonder where my hand will end up sometimes

When I was trained they told me I could either get the client to take their underwear off, or if I didn't feel comfortable with that, I could just move the underwear around and work round it that way. I personally just find if someone is there with nothing on, I don't know where to look or where to put my hands! My boss does the same!

jo jo's nails, i no exactly were you are coming from, i no the day i went down to essex omg both me and my client could have hidden under a bale of hay. Being on all fours with bum in air really is an embaressing position. I was in giggles my client was in giggles and kim bless her was cross.
We got there in the end though, poor kim she had her hands full that day. I have done 8 brazillions and 3 hollywoods since seeing kim and it has got easier and less embaressing each time. Now my clients get the giggles but i no were they are coming from which is the good thing and when i tell them my story of my training day they giggle with me taking there minds off what i am doing. I tell u though, i certainly don't get embarressed now and u will be the same in time. I have had one lady that wanted a hollywood and wanted to keep her pants on, but by the time i had finished she said shall i just take them off, so hun just think in 6 months time you will be the one telling the clients your story and not get embarressed at all
