All companies give differing amounts of solution they recommend which emanates from the DHA quality of the solution itself and the techniques for applying the solution.

We would recommend 35ml/45ml once you've been spraying for a while....some therapists report using only 25ML.

So if you take an average of 30 ml per application this would mean that you would obtain a total of around 30 full body tans per litre
HTH

I always notice a difference when my business partner has been using the spray gun, It always tends to be set a bit too high. Which means more solution and overspray and less tan's per litre!! (it's my pet hate)

We probably average around 23 to 25 but as Collin says it depends on the product.

nice one thank you! did my training yesterday and was told each spray tan would use approx 75 - 100ml and that would only get approx 10 - 12 applications out of a bottle!! thought that was a bit strange!! lol

Thanks guys!!!

Hi hun, did my spray tan training today! Which company did you train with, do you use the gun, compressor, etc. they sold you or did you already have those? Just wondered if that may make a difference. No doubt someone will let us know:green:

I went with Urban Tan, I bought the whole package at Professional Beauty for a great deal. Loving the colours, we got to use 3 different colours just on my models today!

Mmmm your cost per treatment is running a bit hig at around 20-25%..you need to be targeting 10-15%.

Its a bit like heating a room but leaving the door slightly open..all that cost strait out of the door and the room isnt any warmer:eek:.

Don't worry as its perfectly normal that more solution is used when you first set of into spray tanning....Try to turn your gun output dial down half a turn each week until you feel that your still turning out a good tan but using around 30ml.

Just think you could halve your treatment cost if you adopt a less is more approach.
Good luck

I did my training with naturasun and i already had all my own stuff. I've turned down my spray so its fine spray. They had a hvlp with high medium and low buttons and they had it on medium so maybe thats why!! my machine isn't quite so fancy but if it does the job then its good for me lol

I agree with collin though that it must take time to get it just right!!

Thanks xx

I agree too! I also think it's a good idea to turn the dial down 1/2 a turn every week, I'd never have thought of that!

Good luck with your first spray tan tonight!!!

well i had my first tan last night and it went well aprat from a bit of wetness on the chest but think that was my fault - i either got too close or moved gun too slowly!! But she was happy anyway so i was too!!!

Well done you
The chest area or between the breasts is one of those areas that really does somehow attract spray and is very easy to apply to much

Some only spray the breasts leaving any over spray to tan the area between.

Another option is having sprayed the breasts is to pull the gun back(at least twice the distance you would normally spray from) whilst keeping it horizontal and lightly mist this area.

Takes a bit of having a few goes but soon becomes second nature.

Well done so far though..seems your doing just grand

Thers also a tutorial on here about spray tanning by Tonilee, I think shes mentions the tissue test ?? wher you spray and keep turning you gun dowm, and see if solution seeps through to the other side, I found that really helpful in my adjustments on my gun

Ive always been told 25-30 tans but to be honest im not even sure as i dont count infact i may try counting just to see as i dont think it is 25-30 tans

I was told 50 mls per tan but after some sound advice from jaffacake turning my gun down and spraying a little closer I am now using 30/35 mls and far less overspray the tans look no different just more cost effective for me.

i think i have a lot of experimenting to do i'm going to start taking note on how much i'm pouring in and if i have any left

i'm prepared that my first bottle of solution is pretty much going to go to waste as i've been practicing on my boyfriend and a couple of friends.

i think i'm being extra fussy with my practicing though. i live in a small island with a couple thousand folk on it who all know one another and are all related. so one bad tan then my reputation would be ruined within days.

i was delighted this morning to hear my 2nd spray tan models mum saying its the best tan she's ever seen and couldn't believe there was no streaks.

i'm going to the scottish beauty show in may so i'll be taking notes from the tanning stands when they do their demonstrations

so far word has spread since yesterday and i now have 2 more tans and i've still not done any advertising in the local shop :)

I would say on average i get about 22 tans per litre but when i first started it was probably about 12-15.
Good advice to turn the gun down a 1/4 inch, will try that myself!

Like everyone else is saying you should be getting at least 20 - 25 spray tans out of a litre, who ever is telling you 10-12 wants you to buy more solution than you need.
