Hi ladies I am feeling a bit bad.

As some of you will remember my nightmare spray tanning client before xmas...the one that was fussy and kept cancelling.
Well I had managed to get rid of her because she was doing my head in.

I've since moved and lost all numbers from my phone. Yesterday I answer a call and it's her  wanting a spray tan tomorrow (today) So I explain I have nothing available for her today. She says 'oh come to my work for 9am and we shall do it in my office). Ok so I book her in.
To get to her place for this time of the day, I need to leave about 7.30am. So up I get, get ready, put everything in the car, get half way down the rd and get a text 'sorry cant do the tan in my work as i'm too busy. Come to my place at 2.30pm today'
I'm sorry but who the hell does she think she is? She knows I pick up my little boy from school around this time anyway

So I rang her I was absolutely raging and told her not to call me again as she does nothing but p me off. She has only ever stuck to one appointment time the whole time i have been spraying her and does nothing but complain. 8 mobile therapists have been coming to her and are now nowhere to be seen.

I'm not regretting telling her enough is enough but really think I could have handled things differently. So feeling a bit gutted now :irked: x x x

Ah babe I have been through that I don't know how many times with her. It doesn't seem to make a difference. Think it must have been a build up of a lot of stress from her lol I will have to find the link to the thread i posted before xmas ...that will defo make you laugh  xxx

you've told her that you have sacked her as a client now, so put it to bed and try and forget about it. Hopefully it will teach her some humility.

I would have sent her a bill.

hey babe dont beat yourself up about it!!! whats done is done.
At least it were stress relief on your part getting off your chest. I would have done the same in your situation.

You're not pre-menstrual by any chance are you?

Hi - To be honest i think you were well within your rights to get annoyed and frustrated with her. Leaving your house at 7.30 to get to her to do an appointment at 9! you've lost over an hour and a half doing that and all for a 10 min spray tan and £20 no way shes not worth it and she had to know that her attitude towards you and your work stinks! good on ya i say! I'm sure you won't be hearing from her again but don't worry as you say 8 other therapists have come and gone with her maybe this time she'll get the message and start treating therapists with some respect! cheeky mare!

I think you just have to learn from the experience and do not be too hard on yourself. She was very trying but I know how you feel as she knows she has got to you!

In future recognise the signs and deal with these types of clients earlier rather than being over accomodating to her - it is natural to do this as we all want to come across nice and pleasing but the customer is not always right.

Look on the bright side... at least you have finally expressed your feelings. And now she won't call again, and if she does she'll hopefully be more appreciative of the time you took to accommodate her.
She must have really rubbed you the wrong way since I doubt you react that way to others.
Hopefully you at least feel a weight lifted off your shoulders

Keep your chins up (as my mum always says)...

IF she does ring again, ask for payment BEFORE the treatment, if she then cancels on you, her payment is kept!
She needs to learn how things are done.

You, my love, need to work out how to deal with clients like this if it ever happens again.

I have a strict miss 1 appointment and forgiven rule, it gets marked on their record card and then after that, at my discretion, they get billed.

Thank you hun! I feel loads better now. She really has rubbed me up the wrong way for over a year now and there is a whole load of other stuff too. I never react that way to my clients ever!! But the rest of my clients are fab ladies and wouldn't treat me this way. So i'm very glad to have gotten it off my chest...a whole yrs build up hee hee  xxx

That is not being unprofessional hun you have got to think about your business and having her on your books is a liability so you did the right thing:hug:

Thank you ladies for all of your lovely comments. I feel a lot better now!
Hopefully she doesn't ring back, but she is the type that will. I would much rather be putting my time an effort into those clients who deserve it. So I have learnt a very good lesson by this and think i need to be a lot firmer on clients like this from the beginning.

Thanks you guys!! x x x

Dont blame you hun! Would have done the same thing, your not unprofessional at all your just human! Just because we run a business and are beauty therapists doesnt mean to say everyone can walk all over us.

She has messed you around toomany times and you was kind enough to put yourself out and go and do her tan that early!

xxx

dont feel bad it was in the heat of the moment. This lady needs to know she cant mess ppl around its rude. Dont let it get to you its probably a blessing in disquise!!:)

I don't think that loosing her as a client was unprofessional, after all she wasn't really a paying client if all she mainly did was cancel. However I do think that maybe telling her in the way that you did was perhaps a little unprofessional.....but you yourself already feel that and know that

I'm guessing that if a situation like this arises in the future it would be best to leave it for a little while so that you can deal with it in a calmer manner.

CHICK LOSE NO SLEEP OVER HER SHE IS DOESNT CARE ABOUT ANY ONE ONLY HERSELF DOES SHE NOT REALSIE YOUR BUSY TOO!! tHE CHEEK OF SOME PEOPLE. I WOULD JUST SAY IF SHE PHONES BE LOOK HOW WOULD YOU LIKE IT IF I WASTED YOUR TIME MRS B LIKE NO DISRESPECT TIME IS MONEY ESP WHEN YOUR LEAVING AT 7.30 TO BE WITH HER AT 9. AND I AGREE WITH HIPPY CHICK ALL MONEY UPFRONT WITH HER FROM NOW ON MAYBE THEN SHE NOT WASTE YOUR TIME CHICK.
:hug::hug:

I actually read your other thread recently [I'm new to this site and going through threads to see if I'm 'normal']... & I have to admit I thought this woman was pretty audacious!
Then after you change numbers etc. she's hunted you down (prob b/c no one else will deal with her) only to treat you that same way. Even more audacious!!
I'd like to think I'd remain cool, calm and collected if I was ever in that situation... but I don't know... ???! :green:

As they say "there is always one!!"
At least now you have her number in your phone so you don't have to answer if she ever called again!! Just a shame that you don't have all your other good clients numbers on there!! Hope that you have client cards to keep details etc. I think we have all been burnt by technology and loosing info etc...nothing worse.
I think that I read a thread about advertising for new clients as you moved to a different area recently? If that is the case I hope that you build up a lovely clientel where you now located:hug:

she is one person, a person where you could have done people that stick to times in, dont beat yourself up the other 8 im sure would have done the same, if you get this again take a deposit like half the treatment if they cancel within 24 hours keep it :) xxx
