So, I'm sure there are many of us here that didn't start out doing what we're doing now. Thought this might be an interesting way to see where we've all come from.

Personally, at the ripe of age of 30, I've been:
*a check-out chick
*seafood processor (peeling scallops & prawns)
*library assistant
*worked with Dept of Environment building walking tracks, maintaining lookouts
*worked as a room cleaner in a resort
*worked on a 1900 phone line doing tarot readings
*avon
*worked at elections in polling booths
*did typing of resumes
*worked as a collector for the census
*designed and created websites
*worked in a call centre

Have qualifications\certificates in:

*Horticulture
*Welding
*Acrylic Nails
*Massage
*Waxing\tinting\spray tan\eyelash extensions
*CPR
*Sports Trainer
*Reflexology
*Aromatherapy
*Reiki
*Catering
*Business\Reception\Admin

So that's a few things I've done to get to where I am now - massaging.

Woolworths till-boy then floor supervisor (my first job when I was still at school - paid my way through uni, that did!).
Paperchase till-boy.
Housing authority helpline (the worst job ever, some people were so rude it used to give me panic attacks).
Telemarketing (very briefly, also pretty bad).
County council IT team (hilarious, as I knew nothing about computers but they got me cheap from a temp agency).
Then various roles in the youth justice and probation services for 7 years, working with victims of crime and training staff and volunteers whilst I also studied and worked part-time in beauty.
EDIT: oops, forgot to add that I now actually work full-time in beauty, lol - I run a men's salon in Hampshire and also travel the country training others in the wonderful world of waxing.

The salon and training side of things are by far the best of the lot, I've never been happier.
