Would I have done this, nope, in all honesty I wouldn't have and I doubt you will do it ever again lol.....
I would have just looked through the window and watched lol... I still do this, I find is fascinating how clients just sit there and let them do all this stuff ....
No client consultation or record cards.. hmmmm... No sanitation full stop....pushing back cuticles with thumb nail great, he is using his hard nail to push down on very soft nail plate, to push away non living tissue yea right!.... check out for dents on your nails as the nail grows , it will look like a habit tick....using an efile to remove shine, yea righty ho, did he use a specialised coated drill bit for this? I bet he didn't go with the direction of the nail growth, he didn't remove shine he removed Keratin, so anything will stick now, the nail plate is so rough that it will look like Velcro under a microscope and even fluff would stick to this until the next re-balance never mind L&P...E-file to shape the nail, OK did he display any certificates that show you that he had e-file training, did he use a sanitised bit at all ? Check your cuticle area again in a week or two, did he manage to remove just a little to much keratin and left you with a nice little groove?
There is so much more to being a great Nail Technician then to just have a great line of light......I could get one of those with a Black and Decker....
Well you said it only took 40 Min's and you came out with a lovely set of nails only cost 32.00 quid... Well Hun you didn't you came out with possible nail plate damage that will take 6 months to grow out....
NSS stands for Non Standard Salon.... and yes it was one of those... MMA has got very little to do with this... the standard of a good and sound salon will leave you with fab and healthy nails and if the line of light isn't spot on then that is just a tiny minus point and something that is not ruining your nail plate....its just lack of expertise but not lack of respect to a healthy nail..
I would have been out of that salon as soon as he used his thumb nail to push back my cuticles.......that would have stopped my curiosity in its tracks and shown me right away it's an NSS alright.....
and yes granted there are some Technicians that still cause plenty of damage to a nail plate by using a hand file.... but would I check those out?.... nope I would take a clients words for that and just make sure I would and will never do that myself.....
To be honest I am more interested in the kick butt nail Technician competition I have then the NSS ones..... A kick butt Nail Technician will give me a great run for my money, a NSS will just increase my profits, as I have to sort out there greenies, Onycholisis and other crappy stuff.....
But I know how to do that I have the education.... they just have well not sure what they have... Oh yes a very cheap service on offer....
Just my £1 worth on this...... inflation and all that xxxx
Like Glynis said, I am not here ruffling your feathers, but I think it was a drastic step just to see if they are xxx
