Well...as i cant sleep and have been waiting for this trip for a LONG time,i thought id leave you guys with a poll...

Whats your most romantic city that has fond memories for you...?

There are soooo many to choose from so i thought id put as many as i could, but if you have another, share with us:hug:

For me,it has to be Prague...yes would you believe NOT Paris,LOL..

Prague has History, culture, the people are absolutely welcoming, and we had such romantic times:Grope::green:

oh you can vote for more than one if you wish!!

So geeks around the world, what are yours?

Sorry that the first vote is from me and is for "other". I travelled far and wide on my own before I met my husband.

I don't find cities romantic at all, but have been to places that have taken my breath away. Kakadu in the Northern Territory was so incredible it made me cry! Wish I had been with the love of my life.:Kissing:

The Gili Islands in Indonisia was another "OMG" moment, but also on my own. Blimey, I sound sad!

I have to say that a lovely sunny day, walking from the South Bank to Southwark can be romantic. Especially when the sun is just going down.

*everybody sing* maybe it's because I'm a Londoner..........:green:

Geeze I haven't been to any of those places :irked:.......

I don't have an especially romantic hubby so those are far and few between....but have to agree with Sals......much more the person than the place .....But do have very good memories of Vegas ....and here in Victoria ....:)

Well I chose Other too...

I went to Bali for honeymoon...but it wasn't romantic...

I think the most romantic place I have ever been is Tenby...in South West Wales...and it isn't a city...lol

Had some fun and romance there over the years

I ticked Rome! only because it ooozes appeal to me...
Sydney???!!! Dirty little place.. not very romantic, but the countryside is beautifull.. I would say Melbourne is more romantic then sydney.. Food and wine to die for!

*Sighs, Romance? whats that??

For me it was Green Island in the barrier reef australia.I was convinced my now hubby was going to propose when we were strolling along a beautiful white sand beach but he actually waited till we got back to uk and did it in the local Indian.

Im sorry hun,i didnt know what cities to choose from outside europe...im a european girl through and through:rolleyes:

You would love Rome...i remember sitting on the spanish steps there, and throwing a coin in the trevli fountain,in 1996....i know i will go back at some point:)

And as for romance,i hope some comes knocking on your door:hug:

Like Sals, I too travelled a fair bit before settling down to married life.

Of all the lovely places I have been fortunate enough to visit though, I would say the most romantic place in the world for me would have to be Maui in the Hawaiian Islands ... I'd gladly go back there again (if it weren't for the 17 hour flight!).

My hubby did propose to me in Paris though, so I guess I can include that place too.

:lol::lol: That really made me laugh. Men; they haven't a clue, bless 'em!

Hmmm, for me I'm torn between so many. I've had my most romantic moment in New York but think I would choose Amsterdam as my most romantic city.

My (now hubby) and I had our first trip to New York together a few years back. We went to the cinema to see Traffic, loved the film. When we went into the cinema it was a cold crisp day. When we came out everything was covered in a thick blanket of snow. We walked down 8th Avenue holding hands while it snowed on us - a real Its a Wonderful Life Moment.

But if I wanted to take him away for a romantic weekend it would be to Amsterdam. Its my fave city in the world and I just love all the small bars, coffee shops, shopping. And its great - it keeps the tourists in one area around the red light district so its easy to escape them and discover real Amsterdam.

Paris for me, thats where my hubs proposed at about midnight after a lovely dinner and walk along the seine by notre dame.

Bath for me too, the buildings, the baths, the cathedral ,jane austin......night life is good sit out bottle of wine watching the world go by ....i love bath

Venice!!!!! Amore!!!!!

i've voted Prague Hubby and i went last November and it was beautiful.

we spent 2 amazing days just walking seeing the cathedral and clock tower, walking along the river under the yellow leaves of the trees and sitting eating dinner in the outdoor restaurants. The people are really friendly and the shopping center is great for clothes and the best bit for hubby he could indulge in his nasty habit whilst having a beer.

I forgot, that street with all the top designer shops that have the bodyguards on the doors! WOW !

I ought to get out more lol, my romantic places are Paris, London, America, Hertfordshire and Milton Keynes :green: these are where my babies were born looool

It had to be Paris because that is where i was born!! but also because that is where Hubby and I went for our very belated honeymoon and I really enjoyed re-discovering it through his eyes!!
