i am uber anti drugs .. but it wouldnt bother me if i saw it .. personally i wouldnt stock it
but me personally am far more offended by people sat smoking in front of me or letting their dogs crap all over the place and not cleaning it up .. you see pictures , posters for sale everywhere it doesnt actually mean everyone that has a picture is a dopehead , some people might just actually like the design ,
i dont know why people are so outraged theres far worse stuff happening than a picture of a leaf
i have no idea if my son might want a poster one day but if he does .. will that mean hes a dope head .. i hope not .. and i certainly wouldnt jump to the conclusion that he was i would look for signs of drug use

This pretty well sums my opinion on it up too.
I also think Gr8nails is correct in that its about $.
If theres a market for it theres money to be had, thats what business is about at the end of it.
We may not like the design but I have no doubt plenty do.

But just wanted to add though, did you know that Heroin is made from Opium, and Opium comes from the Poppy Plant...? Personally, I think the Poppy plant is quite pretty and pleasing to look at. When I see it, I just see a pretty flower and I don't associate it with Opium or drugs.

I think things like this is very personal, each person sees things in a different way or perspective.
I don't think there is a right or wrong.

I'm bowing out as there's a fine line between opinion and offensive and actually I'm pretty offended.

I wouldn't look at it and see hemp products, I wouldn't think drugs right away either, as I've said. I don't want to even go there on the chav angle.

They May have been designed specifically for the Dutch Market Amsterdam nail techs where cannabis is neither illegal nor frowned upon .I personally love what happens when there's a bit of a risqué product comes out what will the minx opposition come up with soft porn nail wraps maybe :o:lick:

Can I just say Heroin and Cannabis are NOT the same thing. At all.

Also just because alcohol is legal doesn't make it less dangerous. I'm sure if you googled the amount of alcohol related deaths in comparison to cannabis related deaths you'd see that for yourself.

Personally this minx isn't to my taste. I don't stock it but I would be happy to order it in and apply it if my client requested it specifically. I'm sure Minx are not in any way involved in Cannabis (or heroin for that matter :/) production so I don't feel I'd be doing any harm.

As a final note, if a teen's gonna smoke a joint they're gonna smoke it wether they've seen a cannabis minx or not.

I agree with this.

However, from a personal opinion I am completely against any of it for some personal reasons I won't go into though have never even tried it myself.

I couldn't give a monkeys if a client wanted a cannabis leaf, a heroin needle, a cigaret or whatever else took their fancy as long as they were paying me my money and not doing harm to others. It's their lives they can live it how they want.

How many of you use smilies? These are a symbol of acid/LSD. They have just been developed with different expressions. I am old enough to remember the time when their only meaning was 'acid'! The design causing so much fuss may have been developed for a country where it is legal; or maybe for MS sufferers, some of whom rely on the medical results of using it (I don't know)

There are so many levels this argument could be taken to, At the end of the day, if you don't agree with that design, don't buy it. If you think having that design makes Minx a 'wicked and corrupt' brand then I suggest you look a bit further afield for wickedness and corruption that you probably buy into without realising. :smack: (this means 'don't take LSD')

Personally I really feel there are better things to worry about. A minx picture aint gonna make your kids smoke weed, their friends will do that:lol:

I do realize that a picture isn't going to make someone smoke it.
I do realize that I have a greater impact on my children than what's outside my front doors and I hope what they learn at home follows them outside.

BUT my opinion would be that the image does condone it, it does make it appear 'trendy' and 'fashionable' and as such, encourages it.
I wouldn't use minx with that on it, anymore than I would with a bottle of JD on it, or a needle, or a cigarette etc...

None of us are perfect and we all have bad habits here and there, but do we encourage these bad habits by making them "fashionable"?

And yes, arguably, there a lot of things companies do that I'd likely not approve of "IF" I knew the truth of it. But, it is what it is and I can't possibly know it all.
BUT when I am made aware of something I do not condone nor approve of, I make the choice not to support that Industry.
Such as in the case of Michael Vick being represented by Nike Shoes..... he's responsible for the deaths of many dogs!! via pitbull-dogfighting, so I'll NEVER EVER buy anything Nike.
To me, wearing Nike shoes would be like saying "Michale Vick is sooo cool" and he's NOT.......

So for me, wearing 'dopey-nails' is like saying to my kids "hey, smoke pot, it's cool!"

I will admit it's not right and does promote that it's ok but purely from a business point of view it doesnt bother me. From a personal point of view it does. But you wouldn't not paint someones nails blue because you didn't like blue nails would you? At the end of the day it's what the customer wants. If you choose not to allow your clients the option then that is your choice and it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks.

I dont smoke I have a friend who does.. I saw the leaf and thought.. "I wonder if......"

There are MANY MANY arguments as to whether Marijuana is good or bad.. I have always thought its more about the humans using it... This plant goes back longer then us.. and will be here after us... So in the end, weed wins!

At the end of the day its freedom of choice to like or not or to stock it.

I expect many of us have clients with all kinds of backgrounds and lives we don't always know about and I dare say some of them could shock us to our cores, a picture on a nail shouldn't be enough to judge anyone on.
