One of my clients has rung up asking to book her mum in who is 99 for her chin and top lip to be waxed. And I am really struggling to decide weather this treatment is suitable for a client of this age to have waxing? can anyone help? xx

Bless this lady, my hat goes off to her 99 and still looking a million dollers, if she wants waxing who are we to decide. yep if she wants waxing it your job to do it chic xxxx:)

Hi ya I'v got a couple of ladies in their 80's who have waxing lip, chin and eyebrows everythings ok. There just relieved that someone out there will help them with facial hair which they feel very embarrassed by. So I cant see there is any problem hun.

I wouldn't personally do it.

My nan is 91 and has the thinnest (all you've got to do is touch her with a sharp fingernail and she bleeds) saggiest skin (no offence Nan!). I expect there are good ways of doing it, and I trust myself, but I think there are too many risks at that age.

I have a 94 year old come in for a brazilian!!!! She dosnt have that much hair in the first place and her skin is very thin but I ensure I take my time and extra care.

I also have many other ages wanting waxing including the face and I dont turn them down unless they are contra indicated.

i did a lip wax on an 82 year old last week. the only problem was that she wasn't good enough at stretching down her lip so i just stretched the skin myself between two fingers and it turned out perfectly.

You'll have to get her in and assess whether she is contraindicated when she arrives as you would with other clients. If her skin is too thin or has broken capillaries obviously you would not be able to wax her whatever her age.

Am I sick in the head? I'm sitting here killing myself laughing.

Apply oil and remove the hair in tiny little area. Don't stretch the skin too much though. xxx

In my limited experience, I would see nothing wrong with waxing this elderly lady if she has no contra indications. You may even find her skin is tough as old boots, lol.
