hi guys i have a mate who wants her bikini line waxed for when she has the baby but shes is due in 2 wks
now as i have never done a heavily pregnant client before i am scared about maybe starting labour off or something
so can anyone tell me is it ok to do it ??

I'm just learning waxing, but I understand that its ok as long as there are no pregnancy complications, such as pre-eclampsia.

It is also important that the client is not flat lay on her back for too long (longer than about 15 mins) This is because at this stage of the pregnancy the weight of the uterus and baby would fall on the Vena Cava and will reduce the oxygen supply to the baby. Any longer it could cut it off. The mother should also feel discomfort in the form of dizziness if this problem occurred. Slightly upright or to one side is fine.

I had mine done at 1 week to go and there was no problem.

i did one for a lady who is due in 6 days - she was fine. Just get them to lie on a bed with cushions behind them, do one side with them pulling up to the side of the bump to make the skin taught and then get them to turn round and do the other. Work in small patches and check that the client is not feeling dizzy etc.

Brilliant technique. You could also get them to stand if it's just a basic bikini and if they would feel more comfortable.

The only way you could start off their labour is if your break their waters with a spatula which I don't think will happen.:)

be sure she has no vulval varicosities. i'm sure she would know if she did as its really painful.:irked:

vulval varicosities

never heard of these? presuming they would tell you in the client consultation if they had

lol she ma even be greatful for starting her off early
i would have paid to have started 2 weeks early lol

Hiya,
Dont worry about starting labour off. i had a bikini wax done 2 weeks before i was due and i was ok, i was a week late if anything. Only thing i would say is that she maybe a bit more sensitive down there as she is pregnant.
