hi

What does everyone think of mineral make up? ive never tried it before and just want to know does it give better coverage than a liquid foundation and is it good for people with blemishes, redness, broken capillaries etc...

We use Jane Iredale and it is superb. Gives great coverage with a flawless finish. Worth a try.

im not a skin expert but iv just bought mineral make up to try on myself and i didnt like it much. it went on nicely and covered very well but it enhanced my wrinkles more than my liquid foundation does and it made my skin feel and look dry.

I too have tried it but I feel it suits the younger skin better as it does enhance any wrinkles also I found in the summer months my face looked slightly wet. Needless to say I have reverted back to my old faithful liquid foundation.

I love my mineral make-up, I use i.d bare essentuals it's fab, what brand are you looking to try?

I've tried 3 brands.

What I've found is that for my allergic/sensitive skin, (I also have acne rosacea) it did NOT irritate. So for that I have to give it a thumbs-up because just about everything irritates my face.

HOWEVER... in terms of coverage........ I just couldn't get med/full coverage.
(It wasn't just a question of technique, I had a pro do it one time).
Plus, it was messy (powder everywhere...)

But for the average person who's face isn't bright red and bumpy..... I'm sure it's fine.

I think different types of mineral powders suit different people, I had jane iredale applied at the beauty show last yr oh my god it was awful on me! looked really caked and went into every line on my face  I've been using a cheapo collection 2000 and it looks way better on me :) maybe best to see if u can get some sapmles too try? hth xx

I have tried many of the mineral make up ranges, (professional and premium) and the best i have found is VANI -T s KRUSH MINERALS

I've used 3 brands: id Bare Escentuals, Jane Iredale and Cozmetic Lab.
I loved the finish of id, my skin looked amazing, sheer and flawless. It seemed to last very well too and I got lots of compliments! Jane Iredale - hmmm. My skin looked heavy and slightly artificial, and I couldn't wait to get it off my skin. Cozmetic Lab - this is the rane I decided to use in my salon and for all my brides and prom girls. It's completely pure - it has no bismuth oxychloride, no parabens, no fillers, no talc, so it doesn't upset skin. I've yet to find a skin that it doesn't suit - even rosacea ones!
And the best bit is that Corinne (the owner) is a fab lady.

I have used both Art Deco and Krush Mineral makeup and even though I have older skin I have not found that it has enhanced my wrinkes more.

I have found the coverage with Art Deco makeup better than the Krush Minerals better. The Art Deco kabuki bristles on the brush are more densely packed than on the Krush brush and therefore I have it holds and distributes the powder better. Krush brush looks stunning but just doesn't do the job for me.

I use Lily Lolo and IMO its fantastic, it gives a good coverage no chalky residue from sweaty breakouts lol, its definitely application techniques that you need to master, my skin has never looked so healthy :)

I have tried many make ups over the years but i have found the mineral make ups the best and most natural looking with perfect coverage.

For all those that prefer a liquid make up there is liquid foundations in some of the mineral make up ranges which gives a perfect and flawless finish!
I use the Krush brushes myself and can only compliment that i have never used anything as fantastic before!!!!
So for me its definitely a thumbs up for mineral make up and i wouldnt swap back for the world!!!

I use Lily Lolo. I don't have a problem with coverage or staying power with it (even though I have combination skin, where the oily patches get very oily), in fact it gives me better coverage than liquid foundation. It also seems to suit my skin better than liquid foundation; I have far fewer problems with skin congestion and spots. I tried a liquid foundation recently and absolutely hated the look and feel of it. Mineral makeup sits on the skin much lighter, you can barely feel that you're wearing it.

Never, never going back to ordinary foundation.

I think its terrible on dry skin - (but then there isn't much that does look good on flaky dry skin) - except maybe a very satin finish liquid foundation.

I like the whole idea of it - but don't know what all the fuss is about - I have stocked bare escentuals and maybe had high expectations of it - and was slightly dissapointed.

I recently tried id bare minerals.

The coverage was not good, but thought I mustnt be applying it right, but have tried loads of times and still no good.

I had high hopes for this aswell, and was left very dissapointed.

Oh that's a shame

Did you use the concealer brush too with your application?x

thanks for all the replies. getting mixed sort of feelings from everyone. i have combination skin with dry patches on my cheeks and i get a few breakouts a week, so is it better to stick with the liquid foundation? i don't want my spots and dry skin to be noticeable!!!! :)

I WANT to like mineral makeup. I've tried two brands and have had terrible luck with both. My face gets so itchy when I use it and I'm not allergic.

PM me your details and I will send you a sample of Cozmetic Lab.

Hey weegirl ive got the same skin type as you by the sounds of it, ive ordered lily lolo samples should be arriving tomorrow *fingers crossd* can let you know how i get on if you like. Some liquid foundation really make me skin spaz out after a while was hoping this would be a gd answer aftr all the reviews i read on the product.

Realy curious how it goes after reading everyones mixed opinions, hope i have better luck than some ppl did ^^
