(Sorry to the mods if you want to add this to the main EVENT thread please do , but I put it into chit chat as its more of a topic in its self )
I just bought my hubby's ticket to the EVENT party , as we live in Germany i have no idea what he will be doing the rest of the time , other than sitting in the hotel room ,
so it got me thinking .......
as the title says , If you are going to the EVENT , what are you doing with your significant other ?

are they coming ?
if they are what will they be doing while your at the seminars ?

if they are not coming what will they be doing ?

Mine is coming but not going to the party. During the day he is planning to take advantage of the facilities at the hotel as it has a pool etc. At the minute I'm wondering about lunch times both days as I understand food is provided but it might be that I toddle off and meet him and eat with him.

How many husbands are actually going to the party? X

my husband is staying at home and i think he is going to a football match on the saturday with his mates and football on the sunday with our boys as well as he will probably con his mother into cooking dinner for him and boys!

Mine is coming and he has an event ticket. The plan is for him to use hotel facilities, take iPad, take DVD player etc. he's worried he'll be bored but I've told him to enjoy the time away from work and kids and just do nothing!

I will feel obliged to see him at lunch but not if it means missing out on food and chats!!,

I will look forward to seeing your "flowers" this weekend then Hun,

No pressure then lol! Xx

you are definitely going to make someone very happy but at the cost of going yourself:sad: xxx

Really random but have I missed something on here about food? (I'm slightly food obsessed) do we get lunch on the Sunday and Monday? Is there a dinner at the party? Xxx

I believe lunch is provided but there will not be food at the party, we need to eat before hand as its hor d'oeuvres only at the party. Will try and find Samantha's post about it xxx

My hubby is also going! I am sure that boys will their brains& forces and find few pubs and means of entertainment ;)

I'm happy to say that I'm leaving my husband behind looking after our son and animals.

Even though I'm extremely nervous about it, it will force me to socialise with the other geeks rather than hiding behind Mr Geordiehandbag. ;)

That's why mine didn't go to the party last time and won't this time. He did the first time and he danced a lot with the Scottish geeks (I don't dance) and the rest of the time I talked only to him  So this time he's said again that I'll socialise more by myself and as I've already been adopted for the party I guess he made the right move

Keep your eyes open for me, I feel exactly the same x

Isn't it funny how we are nervous...I'm really nervous!!! Plus I'm going to be in another country so can't just go home if nobody speaks to me!
We can all arrange a time to meet up the evening before if people are up for it, even just those staying in the De Vere, although I know the other hotels are all close too. It will be a very early start but I know father flying I will be checking into hotel, unpacking and wanting food and a drink!

Can I just re-assure and say ... that apart from possibly a few brief minutes until someone spots you or you spot someone else, no one has any need to be nervous in the slightest.

We are all a friendly bunch, we all love the same things, share common experiences and interests ... there is just no need at all to be anything other than excited. We are outgoing types; how could we not be and do what we do?

We have nothing to prove, no need to compete; just time together learning and enjoying the same excitement for new education and new things!!! So ..... Don't anticipate ... just relax and enjoy what comes along day by day. For me most of the fun has been not really knowing what was coming next.

If I'm around just walk right up and say HI ... I'm so looking forward to meeting you all and some again (and again). If anyone has a question/s they want to ask me or Marian (even personal ones) then have one or two written down somewhere so you don't forget what they are, so we can have some fun.

I'm definitely more excited than nervous, just really looking forward to learning...love love love learning.
Plus I have the Irish gift of the gab so chatting comes naturally!

Can't wait to meet everyone

Can I just say I'm VERY EXCITED!!

Vicki x
