facebook weirdos - anyone attracted any?

Hi all

Just wondered if anyone had 'attracted' any facebook weirdo's and if you did what did you do about them?

I'm assuming there is a feature to 'block' someone if you want to?

I had a guy enquiring about waxing....asking if i was a waxing 'expert' i said (as it was a man and i dont do male intimate waxing) 'well that would depend on which area you wanted waxing'

He came back with something rather pervy ....i havent replied

Ohh yeah i have....some friends requests from guys i have never met...i didn't accept them. But the worst was on that owned application....some guy owned my pic and gave it a new title....TARGET.......... he was from turkey i think...gave me the right spooks.

This tends to happen if you have listed yourself in a 'network' - ie network: London etc

By putting yourself in a network, you open up your profile to EVERYONE! I edited my profile to remove myself from any networks and I've not had any random messages or requests since.

Well hun, some peeps are lonely, house bound etc and thats how they make new friends, they look at the profiles and when they find peeps who have the same interests as them selves they send in a friendship request. My hubby has been off work since Feb and was going crazy at home, he joined my space and face book and has made a few friends who he now chats to all the time. In fact one of them has invited us over to her place for a holiday next year, she's a lovely lady living in Florida, married, got a kid and has a wicked sense of humour.
Then there is this place, I only personally know 2 geeks the rest of you are my cyber friends and my life is much richer for knowing you:hug:
But yes, I have had a couple of strange people want to be my friends and Paul has been stalked by a woman in Australia:Scared: he blocked her after a couple of contacts with her. But if you don't reach out to people you could miss out on knowing some amazing friends:hug:

However, if you will go being a goth Kirst, you need to expect that your friends will be weirdo's!!!:lol:

I have to admit though, being a goth myself, I do attract some (ahem) "unique" types on facebook, including one who claimed to be an actual vampire and did I want to be turned, and I'm not on about that Vampires application!!

I've found the whole 'owned ' thing a bit odd, I must get rid of it some bloke kept buying my niece off me and was sending her messages etc she just ignored it.

Actually one of my school chums "bought me as a pet for $556" or summat like that. I was just amazed I was worth that much! :green:
