No HD Brows is nothing related to Permanent Makeup, It was not even mentioned. Wax, thread, tint, shape , draw and many other things are involved. Its really strange as even when I am out now I just keep thinking about brows! and looking at people and thinking mmmmm you could do with the treatment!

Oh god i do that all the time now-lol
I'm always looking at peoples brows, in the street, on the tele etc....
I drive my kids mad saying 'good god look at her brows, they're not even' or ' 'her brows need tinting and the shape doesn't suit her face'.
How sad is that-lol

Re permanent makeup, sorry peeps that was my fault, I knew the same company did this and made the assumption that it would be one of the 7 steps. My bad:smack:
That said, I think that this would be the way forward for any one who wanted to be a brow specialist.
I often find myself envying people with caterpillar brows, these can be waxed, shaped and tinted into something that lifts the whole face, I on the other hand have to rely on my brow pencil to give me any proper shape because my brows are so thin and straight:irked:
To be able to go to a brow specialist would hopefully bring the cost down a bit for semi permanent ones and even if it didn't I'd at least have the reassurance that the brows I wanted would be the ones I'd get.
There are some real horror stories out there:Scared:

I'm not the only one then....my hubby and daughter were taking the mick out of me last week when I said a girl on TV had odd eyebrows!!

I would love to go to a brow specialist myself, But wouldn't know where to go!

Not only do I obsess about people's brows, I draw brows onto celebs in magazines when I think they're not right or could be improved.

Do you have to be a trained beautician, or have a qualification in waxing to do the hd brows course? I am only trained in spray tanning, but would like to learn new additional skills in the future.
xx

Omagod, Omagod, Omagod!!!

Hubby just said for my 30th birthday in January he'll either take me away as planned or give me the money for HD Brows  Said it's up to me!

I doubt it. I have my own iBrow courses (accredited by BABTAC), and they cover everything to do with brow design for male and female clients from beginner through to the experienced therapist (male and female). It has nothing to do with waxing in general......it's measuring, shaping, tweezing, cutting, waxing, threading, tinting the hair, tinting the skin and so on. It covers everything to creat the perfect iBrow and you can do just that course with me and not go on to be a waxer in general. You can just specilise in Brow Design.

Thanks for that Kim, I just had a look at your website as well :) xx

Tinting the skin? I guess thats whats done for clients who have gaps or scars in their brows?? What is used to tint the skin??

xx

Was watching a few whitney houston vids and 'run to you' her brows are pretty disapointing - def a tint or penciled in was needed back then!!!
Who knew:rolleyes:

Oh and tint on the skin doesn't last long at all unless there is something longer lasting out there.

Tinting the skin only last days, but is great as a quick fix or for special occasions. If you want something longer lasting, then you'd need to go down the Permanent Make Up (PMU) route. A lot of my clients start with my iBrows or 15min Facelift and then progress to having me do PMU.

I'm a great believer in being totally honest with clients about how long something will last, then that way there's no bad feeling and if they get longer......happy days. xxx

So is the eyebrow tint used for the hairs also used for the skin?

I think your 'honesty is the best policy' approach is the best way to be with clients, there is absolutely no point in disillusioning clients as its only use that end up looking 'bad' or mis-informed/educated...and they feel disappointed which will not help to encourage loyalty!

xx

Yes, the tint is used in two ways on the brows.

1. To tint the brow hair

2. To tint the skin to create a brow/shape that isn't there.

As much as we all adore the Asian brows, I think it's crucial to know how to create the perfect brow on all ages, so a natural brow is just as important (if not more so) that a glam brow. We need to know how to create them all......and for the guys too.

Brows can take over your life and it's wonderful. xxx

ha ha, that cracks me up.

i think brows can do so much for the face though, such an impact.

atm i'm not too happy with mine, i had a different therapist this time:irked:

A tint can also catch the fair blonder hairs which will add volume to the brow.

I was hoping there was a longer lasting tint or skin stain out there for a temporary measure. I have tinted my brows for about 18 years now and it completes the brow shape perfectly - then I use a brow powder for in between waxing.

Onto threading - I love the look of it but can't get me head round the thread in the mouth thing - its just - not right - shoot me down - but its just the way I feel about it.

Clever - fantastic (want to do a course eventally) but -in some way - wrong!!!! Isn't it? I'm sure someone will put me right here.

On the HD Brows course they use the 'cats cradle' method of threading where it is held between the fingers only and not the mouth. Most threading courses will show you the different methods so it will be up to you what you prefer.:)

my therapist doesnt put it in her mouth. more hygenic like that i think.

I saw the cats cradle method on you tube - but just thought this was for personal use and the mouth method for clients (round the wrong way I think lol) - I could probably pick that method up no prob.

Thanks for clearing that up.

Cats cradle is best for salon work I think....especially where insurance is concerned.

In answer to the tint that stays longer, watch this space as I in talks about just that. xxx
