Kate I told you that in the STRICTEST confidence! At least you haven't told them about the drugs running!!!

Well no surprises there - you had to be on something:green::green::green:

OMG You are a cheeky bugger:smack:.
Great idea behind this thread, it's a shame people didn't quite "get" it.
I won't go on about what the mods do for us, as it's all been said.
:hug:For the mods and :hug:for collin (you crack me up).

im with you.. isnt it fab that all these nice things have been said.. this thread has been a really good thing so well done colin.. from someome who gets your humour!

I dont belong to any other forums because I find the people on them to be immature and to be honest a bit thick and or sick.

This site has lovely people on it and the mods keep it that way by making sure everyone toes the line and if they dont then they can sling their hook so to speak.

I think the mods deserve a huge round of applause for keeping this forum friendly, but with a little touch of banter.

This thread was prob a bit tounge in cheek, unless i'm missing the point :o

But it's very clear from the posts on it how well respected ,appreciated and loved the mod squad actually are and clearly we all feel the same :!:

so can a mod feel the wrath like anyone else?!

Say for instance, Sassy was sooooo high on MMA one night, that she was being abusive left right and centre, changing thread titles to awful profanities and condoning the use of MMA. Would she get a Ban, or just a massive smack on the bum? lol. :green:

I love pickin on you Sas. xxxx

My question is..

Do you think that the Mod's do a good job for us in keeping his site in order and therefore relevant to people wanting advise or do you think the same forum standards would be maintained without them.

In an ideal world where all fully understand and follow the rules under which we are governed then we would certainly not need the Mod's and would indeed have to either find them something else worwhile to do all day long or to put them out to grass....sorry ladies but that is a fact:cry:

Thankfully an ideal world doesn't exist and as a conciquence we are privelaged to have a diverse range of opinions, argument and counter argument and therefore in this real world that we live in we would not survive for long without moderation of some sort...so yes we do need the moderators.:Kissing:

In so far as Salon Geek is concerned..as I see it there are a number of elements all contributing to making this site more succesfull than others

1) the platform from which we all have the privelage to speak from...thank you Sam
2) an effective, fair and realitivley easily understood set rules which we all undertake to follow when using the platform...thank you Sam
3) An effective, fair and well balanced means of moderation by a dedicated Mod,s team...thank you mod's
4) Subject matter which has a common intrest to all participants...thank you Beauty industry
5) and last but not least...us Geeks all with a wealth of experiance between us(and some good spirit to help lift the day)

so now for something to think about:idea:

If it were the case that all participants (us geeks) did in fact keep our side of the bargain and conduct ourselves within the "rules" would it not be the case that the mod's workload in dealing in minor issues would be greatly reduced therefore freeing them up to deal with bigger issues and making a far bigger contribution (given their skills) with the same level of input which would further benifit the site and us all.

An example...I googled "back sack and crack" yesterday and found myself back on Salon Geek.....in other words what and how we say things on this site filters out to the whole world (a bigger picture)

Now isnt that an awsome thought ...from a entry point student right the way up to "mr big" can all have a say and posative contribution to someone needing advice,a pep up or simply a giggle..whether the person seeking help happens to be in Bolton Lancashire or on the other side of the globe.

The mod's through the work they do clearly help protect us from making a complete ass of ourselves in Kentucky,Rome or simply Bolton Lancashire.

Happy geeking..oh and hello kentucky:hug:

OMG you must have read my posts in the Mod Squad! I think that is the real trouble with being a Mod though, is you have to toe the line and can't always be as forthright as you want - but then that should be true of all of us!

BTW I'd prefer the smack on the bum :Grope: (and stop picking on me! I'm a good girl I am )

Yes definately need them and a fabulous job they all do too - thanks guys it is appreciated x

Collin lol

You must have been very bored to start this one!!

If only that was the case..work starts around 6.30am and finishes around 10.00pm at the moment and never gives up inbetween...love it and wouldnt have it any other way (for now anyway)

I find it great to break up the day and log on and see whats going on and maybe put something back into the industry by helping someone needing some advise ..even though my spilling(dam there I go again) is equivilent to a 6 year old:lol::lol:

Its great that the geeks all feel the job that the Mod's do is fantastic...(phew could have been a storm brewing there if not)..so I guess early retirement for them is simply out of the question, sorry guy's

I do have to admit that I have been having a wee chuckle to myself thinking what would a retirement home full of Mod's be like :eek:

Well if it's anything like we get up to in the Mod Squad forum then I'm all for it! PAAAAAAAAAAAARTY TIME! Loads of laughs. Plenty of booze and no hangovers ... oh yes please Mods retirement home HERE I COME! :green::green:

I can just see it in my minds eye....

All the Mod's sitting around in their high back chairs, slippers and dressing gowns on(with their hold ups perhaps not holding up quiet as they should) having put the world to right all day long.....

The dinner lady rolls in the trolly with afternoon tea and biscuits and starts to pour the tea only to be faced with a barrage of "dont do it that way...you should do it this way...OMG what a nightmare

Thank goodness there still is a need for you guy's and we dont need to inflict such pain on that poor dinner lady :lol:

TEA AND BISCUITS? When did I miss those? ... I bet they were double choc chip too! Mind you, you can't beat a good custard tart! :green:

Yes, the Moderators do a great job, which is why Salon Geek is far better than all the others.

If it wasn't for the Moderators the site would be full of porn and other rubbish, like some of the other so called professional sites.

We would also be tempted to use the site to advertise our own business for free, wouldn't we Collin!!!
