Just heard the awful news that Natasha Richardson has died. Can't believe such an innocuous fall could be so fatal. My thoughts are with her family. I lost my mother 3 years ago from bleeding in the brain. She didn't have a fall but she did complain of a headache and sickness apparently caused from the blood flooding the brain. This story brings it all back and i know exactly how they are feeling. The family has asked for privacy and i hope the worlds press respect that. Such a great actress and she will be sadly missed.

its terrible , the poor family must be heartbroken i was really hoping she would pull through , i cant stop thinking about it the poor loves xxx

This is really sad news and especially when you think it was just a fall while learning to ski. I go skiing every year and never wear a helmet and have had numerous falls but you just think "oh I'm ok" and carry on. My husband fell last year and banged his head on the pavement and the day after it seemed like he was having seizures, I was petrified but it turned out he had dislodged a tiny peice of bone and it was in his inner ear which made his balance go heywire. So we all need to take care with anything, especially a bang to the head.
My thoughts go out to her family. xx

So sad and quite a shock really. She had the world at her feet too and seemed a beautiful person.

The story of this death really devastates me and is truely very sad. This is a loss for the TV, Stage and Film industry. I loved the part Natasha played in 'Maid In Manhatten'. She was so ditzy and did make me laugh.

More importantly her family are obviously devastated. I am also a huge Liam Neeson fan. And those 2 young boys.......?

We don't and probably never will know what exactly did cause her death, but I mentioned to my hubby last night that I had wondered if she didn't have an underlying problem in the brain eg. arterial malformation, which may have led to a bleed.

It is so tragic.

This is tragic and her family must be so devastated, I feel so sorry for her family and her boys who havent had the time to adjust yet , first to the accident news and then to this devastating news I suspect...a tragic accident and a loss of a great actress

I just saw this on my local news. So sad! My heart goes out to her family.

Its very tragic... my heart goes out to her loved ones.

News reports indicate that an agonizing decision was made to remove her from life support. This does bring home how mortal and fragile life is for each and every one of us. She was with an instructor on a gentle practice ski slope?

A difficult time for her family especially their 2 young sons.

It also highlights the importance of wearing a helmet on the ski slopes for skiers and boarders, beginners or advanced.

The reports have said that had Natasha been wearing a helmet, she would probably still be with us. That makes everything even sadder.
