After work today we had a scheduled staff meeting, in which my boss told us that as of NOW the business is closed, and we no longer have jobs
I have 1 weeks wages owing to me, and holiday pay for only 2 months so I am really really gutted.

Im only just over half way through my training too so I'm guessing its going to be hard finding another job in the industry.

Wow what a blow.

Sorry had to tell someone, and my partner is at work right now so has no idea.

Sorry to hear that Enhanced-Barbie :(

I know exactly what that feels like... you will find something else... be positive... 2 months is not bad & at least you have that - imagine if you had only started there recently.

Plus put it this way, it looks much better for you when looking for another job to say you were made redundant as opposed to having to explain why you left.

Have a few days for YOU time & then get started on updating your resume.

Sorry to hear that hun, but you must get out there today and start looking for that new job, and you never know it will prob be better than the old one.

Good luck.

what a shock for you.
i really hope things work out right for you.

...Big shock to you huni.....sorry to hear that......hope things work out for you xxxxxxxxxxx:hug:

:eek:poor you - hope everything works out for you. Good luck with job hunting

Well, you know what they say, when one door shuts another one opens. I'm a firm believer in that saying and it has always worked for me and my family. Good luck!!

Don't think of your self as half trained, think of your self as having salon experience and as having someone to call on to give you a good reference. Positive thinking and a good head on your shoulders is worth its weight in gold.
Good luck hun and take our hugs with you to give you confidence:hug::hug:

Exactly... you are already a step ahead of most from having experience in a salon. I am so sorry to hear about your job, and i hope your partner has come home now to give you support.

big hug for you

Thanks for the support everyone, just what I needed :)

My boss did say that she would give me a good reference, and say how far ive come since starting with her, so thats a good thing.
And I went to talk to a nail tech friend this morning for ideas on where to look and she gave me a couple (can you believe that she suggested I go to a salon which uses Go 30's )
But its Sunday today so not much I can do today but tidy up my CV and get prepared to start the job hunt tomorrow. I really hope I dont have to find a job outside of the industry!

hiya
this happened to me 6 months ago, except i havent had the wages owed to me yet and its going to an employment tribunal next month!! but you wil find another, and probably better, job. good luck
x

Good luck with the job hunt :hug:

Good luck with the job hunting........you are sure to find something soon.........experience goes a long way XXXX

Wow it sucks to hear that this has happened to other people, especially the wait for the wages!!! Im glad that I'm getting paid out cos I just wouldnt know how I would live without that money, thats why I need a job so urgently.

I went around today and spoke to a couple of master technicians. One gave me a lead for a rent a room opportunity, but im not sure that I'm ready for anything like that yet. And the other one is going to have a look around and see if she can find anything for me, turns out she knows my partners mum so I'm hoping this will encourage her to help more.

Other than that I dont think there is a lot going in my area, I would love to get a job beside a really good master technician who has time and patience to help me get better, and a real passion for nails, as strong as mine... That would be so perfect hehe.

when did you start
