One of my clients has said her spray tan is not lasting more than 3 days and says I should spray her twice. This will obviously cost me more money. I am using sienna spray tan.

I charge £15 is this a good price?

Is she sure that she is following all the correct before and after care as this would obviously affect the durability of the tan. As for spraying twice I was taught to do this always anyway. I have no idea whether this is the same for other brands butyou could always give your suppliers a call to get their advice about double spraying.

:) Hi I also use Sienna x, I charge £20 but it does depend where you live, if she wants to be sprayed twice this means twice the spray and time so you have to charge, but maybe discount it slightly if its within 24hrs or somthing.
It might be an idea to check first what she is doing after you have tanned her, if you havn't already as if she's going swimming or having long hot baths, then obviously two sprays wont help.
Have you checked with her how she cares for the tan after hun?x

If you mean giving her two coats of solution this will not make the tan last any longer,
it will be the way she is (or is not) prepping her skin or the after care routine she has that is making it last such a short time,
if she is not moisturising every day it will not last long,
how long does your solution last on your other clients ?

ok so what about all your other customers...are they lasting 7/10 days...if so then she is blagging you or is going swimming immediately after visiting you

Have you had her back in after 3 days to see for yourself..if not might be a darn good idea if you did

Apparently, Sienna (two of their solutions) only has a shelf life of 3 months. It may be that is why it wasn't lasting.

I would find this very surprising as most solutions have a minimum of 6 months and up to 12 months once opened???

I think this should be checked out by referring directly to Sienna x and posting accordingly for the benefit of clarity for those that use Sienna x:hug:

I would contact the company, I trained with Sienna X and their customer service is very helpful.

I wonder if the client in question is moisturising too much on the lead up to having her tan done. Or indeed if she is moisturising on the day of being sprayed, this would effect how long it would last.

Sienna don't train you to spray twice although I know other brands do work this way. Collins right in saying - how is her tan in comparison to other clients.

Sienna x has a 12 month unopened and a 6 month opened shelf life.

You should aim for around 15 tans out of a litre of solution (some girls can stretch it to Way more!) but i am hoping that you domore than 15 tans in 6 months!

Spraying twice in Sienna will make the tan fade uneven. I wouldn't advise it.
What is she moisturising with? and is she following advise to not scrub, use flannels in the shower? Is she patting dry instead of rubbing?
I suggest recommending her the retail care as it definitely make a difference. The face will not last as long as the rest of the body. The touch up tan is fabulous for putting on the face.
They dont tend to admit what they are doing wrong but i do hope you get to the bottom of it and I am sure it's nothing you are doing huni xx

Hi,
I use Sienna as well and I was taught only to spray once. Your skin can only absorb so much of the product so spraying twice is just a waste. She mustn't be looking after it properly or following pre-tan advice.

Hi, I'm hyjacking the thread a bit with a similar problem.
I have a client that canot seem to keep a spray tan.
She has been sprayed with brand A, came back 3 days later and it was all off and I mean ALL off.
Sprayed her again a week later with brand B and exactly the same problem.

She is not on any medication or sufferd any recent illness....so nothing abnormal happening in her life.
She claims to have exfoliated well the day before (the 2nd time got her husband to do it fo her just incase) and follows all the correct after care advice.

She tans normally in the sun and has no,aparent, skin problems

Is there such a thing as a fake tan resistent cilent ?

Yes there is..some people (not many) will not react to a spray tan solution much in the way that some people wont tan with UV and vise versa.

Seems she is one of the unlucky ones

just as an after thought...she doesn't go swimming regularly does she???

I did contact sienna and they told me that two of their products only have a shelf life of 3 months. Honest.

I spray all my clients twice - it's just preference and they all come back regularly. if it has a shelf life of only three months then it may fade quickly and be out of date once opened? I'm not sure what else to suggest.

which % solution is that as i found one im using now is,nt lasting that long on.
