Hey all! Need advice. I sprayed a client last night with Sienna X 10% checked over as i always do after i have completed the tan. Looked fine, packed up and went home! Then this morning got a txt saying that it hadn't came out, she had a bath and turned white!?

I had a tanning party on Saturday just passed and had no complaints , anyway i asked if i could go and see her, she said that her boyfriend had bought her a bottle of fake tan and she would be covered in it so i couldn't i have offered her her money back but she said she would just want a free tan in a couple of wks.

Pulling a fast 1 or not?

I think so, why are people so nasty!?

NO WAY....she had a bath...what did she think would happen. That would be like someone paying for a set of nails...going hope and soaking them off...and asking for a free set.

As long as you told her the after care...(which i am sure you did) she doesn't have a leg to stand on.

This world is going mad people are out for what they can get and that's it. I did my daughter with 10% today at about 1.30 she had a shower at 4.30 and looks great probably not as dark as she could have been if she had waited till the morning or just left it for a couple of hours more. The colour is lovely for such a short period of time.
When she rings if you don't need her custom keep saying your busy and to call back in a couple of days, if you need her custom still have her wait a couple of days then do her, I would say she is definitely trying it on. :)

Laying in a hot bath is the reason for her having no colour, i bet she gave herself a good scrub too
the client needs to take a warm quick shower and only use gentle shower lotion with their hands, no sponges, flannels or exfoliating mitts,
then they need to carefully pat themselves dry with a soft towel and moisturise from head to toes hth
no refund or freebie required here hun, this was the clients doing.

If it was me, I would tell her I always want my clients to be happy but could not offer a free tan since there is no way of knowing what the problem could be without having seen to results for myself.

I would then run through (bore her!!!) with possible reasons that may have an effect on tan development and then offer her a small discount on her next tan but make sure she complies with correct prep and aftercare.

Assuming she genuinely did have a problem! Does sound like a chancer to me!

Thank you girls, i did ask her to see the tan but she was not letting me, Well never mind sure she wont be the last.

you wouldnt walk into a shop asking for a refund on a top that was faulty if u didnt present the top to the assistant, so why should she get anything off you if you havnt seen the proof that something was wrong.

and aside from this, she shouldnt have had a hot bath!

Don't worry this kind of thing happens to the best of us, as therapists we are basically in the care industry, it is in our nature to care, which is why we chose this career, when a client does something like this, it can be difficult to take and hard to understand what is behind their attitude. I despise people like that.

Don't give her a free tan, she will continue to try and pull off what she is doing, if not with you, with other beauty and spray tanning businesses.

i would offer to respray her in the morn(not after )and then explain the the only way the tan wouldnt have taken is if she had applied some kind of barrier eg any creams or oil etc, clearly to be honest i think your tan was ok (as if her b/f would have tan her )be firm but nice try to explain before you offer any discount etc you need to see the problem to fix it first, otherwise you cant put it right, hth. x

How much does it cost you to do a spray tan?
I think if I were in your position I would be making sure that I was absolutely clear about the immediate aftercare, and give her written details of this (I use Fake Bake and they have an aftercare card, but I still run through all the details with my client anyway).
I'd be tempted to do her a repsray FOC, because the cost of her badmouthing you to anyone who stands still long enough for her to whinge at is likely to be far more costly to you and your business than the respray.
You may also want to emphasise that baths aren't allowed! (If you don't already do so!)

had she have not covered herself in her own fake tan (so she said, it may be that the tan DID come out and she is trying to cover her tracks by saying she did it herself) and if she was willing to actually let you see the results yourself, then if you thought it was a legitimae claim, yes i would give her a FOC tan, because it costs all of a couple of quid in solution.

HOWEVER because she has no proof, how are you to know she is genuine?!

i think in future we should all be clear as to what to do if there is a problem, and explain that we need to see the problem to rectify it! because like i said, you wouldnt get a refund or exchange in any other shop without providing the original item also!

tbt hun dont worry becouse if she tells her mates your crap becouse she cant get a free tan,she will only tell them your a push over if she does ,you dont really wont this so i would sit tight ,if you havent seen any problem you cant correct it,and thats ALL you can offer to do,dont worry some people are just chancers
