I started doing Minx about 3 years ago, and have always charged £25. Lately, I'm starting to hear "through the grapevine" that some of my clients think my prices are high when they can get them done in several local places for £15. A client told my best friend (they are also friends) that she likes me and wants to keep coming to me, but wonders why my prices are so much higher.
I can't guarantee that the other places are using genuine Minx, and I know I'm doing a good application because I've got a good return rate and get good wear out of them myself. But if they are offering Minx, and their rates are that much less, should I be cutting my price? (even if I label it as a "summer special")
We frequently have this discussion when posters here talk about dropping their acrylic prices down to £10-15. I wouldn't consider dropping my acrylic price, but it feels different for Minx (maybe because it's not as time consuming?)
if anyone else is experiencing this with so many salons offering Minx at a cheaper rate? Has anyone dropped their prices because of it?
Thoughts?
