Mine have been on and off and on and off as I'm still training and practising like mad! (i'm sure all that soaking off isn't too good for them though!) How often do you change yours to get a new look?

It will be a bit like that when ur training, new styles and ideas!
I change mine between every 2-4 weeks depending on if I want a change or like what i have.
To be honest, the choice is yours.

p.s. dont forget to smother your fingers in solar oil when soaking off to protect the skin and afterwards on your nails to nourish your nail bed.

Yep I agree here it will be a bit like that on and off and on and off again.

Me well mmmmm..... :rolleyes:let me think as the salon has been manic over the last few weeks I have had no time to shake a nail file at mine as making sure everyone else is looking their best.

The question is would I like a lovely new set YES PLEASEssssss do I have the time NO.:Grope:

New year resolution number 101: make sometime for oneself (in my dreams)

I'm enjoying experimenting a bit lately, but loathe all the soaking off lark. I've been laying down a thin layer of clear first and then managing to file colours off instead, when I've wanted to try something else. :)

i change them every 3 or 4 weeks but i was thinking to change them just now since I ruined the stickers with filing and was thinking of doing full colour!!:)

i do my nails every 2-3 weeks...i trashed them i was newly trained by putting on and taking off....soaking too often can cause damage, as can over filing. I would recommend just keep infilling them for a while to give them a break from the remover/file.

When I was training my nails were on and off in no time then my nails got very sore with rings of fire from over filing and now I keep the same set on and just infill and change the colour or art every couple of weeks so that they look different all the time, much better for me, lol. Claire x

I do mine every 2-3 weeks. I try to go as long as I can but am still learning and tend to get bored or they start lifting haha. Do you do your own when you do them?? I do usually unless a girl at school does. :) Just did mine for new years! I hate the filing my own though, I have not used soak off yet but would like to try, or do you mean acrylic when you say soak off??

Mine when they were tip-n-dip, I refilled them every week to change up the art OR soaked them off to use a coloured acrylic.

Once I switched to UV gel, every 2wks
BUT
Lately, no time, it's more like every 3 to 4:cry:

Umm, about once a week at the moment  I get bored and as a trainee hairdresser, waxing and nail tech, I'm finding theyre not lasting me as long as I'd like  (I also get bored easily :))

My nails are as good when I take them off as they were when I first started having enhancements 2 years ago.

As it happens I'm soaking off as we speak!

xx

it used to be twice a week when i could... but i'd just change the nail art.
then i started working harder, once a week...

and now :| i kept one for 6 weeks... just doing quick infills with my UV Seal every 2 weeks... so sad!

hi 2-3 wks I like to try new colours and glitters out before I offer the service to my clients... xx

If you like to have a different look every so often then you could try just changing the tips and infill as normal, that way you are not constantly using remover. You can try out all your ideas just on the tips. hth x

I'm really useless with my nails and at the moment I don't have anything on - naughty me, I'm also not brilliant at doing them on myself so still need to practice lots. I use Bio Sculpture so I do try to change the colour quite regularly but when I have a lot of clients, they get really dull quite quickly which is why I haven't any on over christmas. I did have but by xmas eve they had to be removed. I am making time tonight to do them though.

I am however having my skill building for L&P so will start doing them again soon to help me practice.

More often than I should, but not as often as I'd like!! :irked:

That said I have had my current set on for about 5-6 weeks, with 1 maintenance and they are still looking absolutely fab so I may end up with a NNO soon.

I rebalance mine every 10-14 days, sometimes stretching to 3 weeks, but I like mine to look their best all of the time and I'm a bit anal about it

As for the design, that's usually revamped every month or two, depending on how creative I'm feeling at the time lol

I have just started to rebalance and change the design, rather than soak off and replace every other week..
It's working so far, but we will see how long it lasts :) x

I was going to put a layer of clear acrylic over natural tips and then I could play around and change the smiles etc without having to soak off all the time. How thin would the layer need to be?

I have just started to rebalance and change the design, rather than soak off and replace every other week as im in competition with a client of mine who is a serious nail picker, we both agreed that if she stops picking and maintains her nail enhancements then I wont apply new nails every week lol, hellllllllllllllllllp im finding it really difficult to resist soaking them off :)

Sue x

how do you get the time to soak and redo ! I struggle to do mine every other week !
