You know what? You try to help someone and they turn around and bite you on the arse!!!
I've recently started visiting another Beauty Forum in www.ivenus.com and came across a thread asking for advice on so-called 'organic' nail products, so like a good girl, I reply with the old organic = carbon thing. In the same thread another member mentioned she had always wanted to join a nail forum so again, being the helpful little Christmas Fairy that I am, I told her about the Geek website - the person who had started the thread also mentioned her own little nail forum.
Here's my post:
Hi.........
,
I think you'll find that most, if not all nail products are organic - all 'organic' means (when referring to nail products as opposed to your local farm produce!)is that the product contains carbon. Some Nail Companies are being a little 'canny' in their advertising by using the 'organic' term to make less experienced nail techs think it is a 'safer' product. Not true. There are many substances that contain carbon that are neither natural, pure or 'safe'.
Your best bet is to stick to a company who provide quality products, training and customer care. The two I rate highest are Ez Flow and Creative Nail Design - you can't go wrong there.
There's a fantastic Nail Tech website with thousands of members who include the leaders in the nail industry.... Sam Sweet; Antony Buckley; Marion Newman; Marco Benito; Gigi Rouse to name but a few. It's called www.thenailgeek.com there have been so many new nail techs asking the same questions about so-called 'organic' nail products, if you use the search facility you'll be able to read some of the 'myths' surrounding the whole 'organic nail product' claim![/I]
Now I thought that was fairly friendly sounding and helpful???
Just checked in there again after about a week and found this reply from the person who had posted the initial message:
Hi there
Thanks for your message but I have to debate with you on this one, not about the organic nails because I don't claim to be an expert on that, but about the nail geek. I like many others have left this website due to rudeness and non neutrality, every time anyone says anything bad about Creative Nails or mentions any other forum their thread is deleted from the site (this for me is in no way neutral). I find it pretty rude that you would high jack my thread on this website to us it as a punting ground for the nail geek of which I may or may not be mistaken you play a big part of. The nail geek needs to learn the meaning of healthy competition and I know of at least 4 people whose membership has been deleted due to them posting other products.
I ask you to refrain from advertising the nail geek in my threads...[/I]
Bloody charming eh? I've not included her name at the end of her post, but she is a member of this site AND YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!!
I've replied of course, probably should have calmed down a little before I did, but I was fuming! I noticed she's asked plenty of questions on this website and everyone who answered has been more than courteous and polite to her - this is the thanks you get! Probably got a little bee in her bonnet because one of her posts was closed by GMG.
I'll try to help anyone if I can and will go out of my way to find information for them, (I actually searched through this site for anything relating to 'organic nails' in attempt to give her the correct information, I knew Geeg had written something, somewhere about the whole 'organic' thing), and this kind of response really pees me off - certainly makes you think twice about offering advice (especially when it's asked for!). :irked: :irked: :irked:
