I need a non strip wax stsyem ASAP.

I have spoke with Lycon who are willing to offer me and my therapist free training and their prices are reasonable on items such as wax pots.

Perron Rigot I am yet to speak with, and I am unsure of Berins with it being new to the market and also their wax heater is soooooo expensive!

I am swaying towards lycon as they have offerd such a great deal in a time when I am tightening my spending so I can buy a house.

I want your full lowdowns on any of these products please. I never wanted to touch Lycon previously because the distributors were awful and now another company distribute it so does anyone have any problems with them?

What is everyone else using?

Thanks Kate x

i've tried perron rigot and berins, i really like them both:green:

Customer service wise Berins wins hands down (jmho that though!)

Lycon..... i've only had a sample of so cant REALLY comment other than it didnt make me buy more ! Perhaps someone who's used it more widely can comment.

Well I have used all 3 and over a period of months so not just a fly in the pan so I will give you my honest opinion which is totally unbiased since I use a variety of waxes in my salon now and am not tied in to one brand.

Lycon is not at flexible as other non strip waxes and can be brittle as well as breaking when removing. They are also quite expensive for what they are. I tried it over a number of months but was not impressed with it and no longer use it.

Perron Rigott - a very competetively priced wax which shrink wraps the hair to remove hair only. A full range of non strip waxes including a roisin free wax. Very flexible and set time is very quick and a nice smooth easy release, a definate favourite of mine!!!

Berins - Again a nice wax a little more expensive than Perron Rigot. Formulated by the same chemist but he no longer works with Perron Rigot and got together with Lori Nestore to tweak the formula hence the birth of Berins. Personally I found that it grips the finer hairs slightly better but not a great deal of difference apart from the price.

Another couple that you may want to check out are Forest Floor and also Harley Wax. Both these waxes are made in the UK and prices are very compareable. I have been using the Harley wax for the last 10 days and am very impressed with it. Again a very flexible wax and a quick set up time as well.

There are loads of non strip waxes out there and what I would say is reasearch them and ask for opinions and why they use it. Dont take someones word for it. Because at the end of the day what one specialist uses may not suit another and vice versa.

You will find on here that some of us waxers are very passionate about waxes and the brands that we use. I am trying to give you a overall view of my experience with the waxes mentioned independently without being tied in to a brand.

I hope that this answers some of your questions, however feel free to pm me if you need to.

Good luck in your journey to finding the right one !!!

I too have not tried Lycon so cannot comment either. However, I have used both Perron Rigot and Berins.

Yes Berins heaters are expensive and I do use Berins and love it but I don't use a Berins heater. I have a Hive 1000cc heater and have very recently (today in fact) got a new Babyliss double heater which I will use for different waxes. The Babyliss heater accommodates the Berins tins beautifully and you can dispense the Berins beads into the removable inner buckets in the Hive heater.

I have also used Perron Rigot and like the products but Berins is my preferred choice.

As I say I have never tried Lycon so cannot give you an unbiased view of this however, don't just jump at a product just because they have offered you free training. If you haven't tried the product first you could well be wasting your money.

Try others before making your final decision would be my advice to you.

You do not have to have any of the companies heaters. Most on here use the hive 1000cc heaters as do i and they are great for both berins and perron rigot.I do feel that the branded heaters are lovely looking but far too expensive.
As to which wax i prefer i have never tried Lycon or i dont think i have, but have berins blue and perron rigot euroblonde.I think you need to make your own decision about what you like by trying all 3 yourself.

Yes Gill you are definately right the Perron Rigot and the Berins Heaters are lovely looking but very expensive. I have 4 1000cc hive heaters and they do me fine and would always recommend them to students and pro waxers. You can get the removable inner buckets as well which is ideal. Perron Rigot also sell the empty tins and I believe Berins are also looking into this and in my opinion this is a far better option. However I wouldnt put someone off purchasing one if they had there heart set on it lol!!!

I use Perron Rigot Euroblonde and PR Essencial Rose which are both non strip waxes and I love them both, however for my strip wax I use Salon Systems cream waxes, which I have found to be great for what I need them for. I have never tried Lycon so I can't comment. I always used to use strip wax for everything and it did take me a while to get used to using non strip waxes but now I would never go back. x

Thankyou for all your comments. My main worry is the heaters. I love hives heaters and have used these for years, I have four already but with different types of wax for different things.

I have seen one in america that stops double dipping so I have tried ordering that but yet to get hold of them.

If I can use the hive heaters then I suppose I may try perron rigot or berins (and I have seen that babyliss one and it looks nice too - Its there hot wax I dont like though).

I like to have a choice of wax and systems I also have PHD system and I mix and match to suit the needs at the time and the client.

Hi hun, as you probably no i am a perron rogot fan, but i also love berins to. I have never used the lycon so can not comment on that wax.
I love the euro blonde, but kindly colin sent me the jet set which took me a while to get on with, but then i just fell in love with it. I have since gone back to the euro blonde and have had similar problems as before with settin up, so will deff be orderin some jet set. I love the blue oceon but if you left on the leg for ten min because i don't no client son turns up to fetch some keys , it a night mare to get off. I met lori at the show, who is just a fab person and will be trying there strip wax as i have been told it does not set up if left so can cover two full legs and remove with no problem, we shall see, and there blue to see how i get on with that. I think your best bet is to ask the companies for smples, then u your self can decide, i am still kind of up in the air, but looking forward to using the blue that i have as loved the jet set more so than euro blonde, good luck hun, i am sure you will make the right choice, or like me use em all lol:)

Hi Kate can i just point out to you that Berins is new to the UK market but has been loved for a long time in the good old USA,
berins is really popular in the USA and we are lucky to now have it available in the UK,
i have not used lycon myself but i have had a demo at a previous show and it did not impress me, free training would not impress me either, if they were all that they would be able to charge for their training instead of giving it away, (nothing in this life is free)
both perron rigot and Berins are very good waxes and i have used them both but im am fully stocked with the berins now because my clients prefer the Berins, hth

So am I right in thinking that I can use the 500CC Hive heaters and put the berins pot wax straight in???

Yes love you can or you can buy Berins wax in bags of beads and put these into the removable pot in a hive heater hth

Perron Rigot is still my favourite. For Brazilians, I recommend Euroblonde. the Escential Rose is cream in colour and sets immediately.

You will find Berins waxes very similar to Perron Rigot as they were produced by the same guy. So although the names are different but similar in some cases, the waxes are almost identical. For example, Jet Set is based on the Perron Rigot Escential Rose and so on and it's difficult to tell them apart. I find the ER gentler on the skin as did my clients.

Lycon isn't as good as they like to claim. It's quite like the old figure of eight hot wax that we used to use back in the day.

Whatever the brand, the biggest problem is that people don't read the instructions and therefore have it at the wrong temperature and thickness.

Don't believe the hype. Try as many as you can and make an informed choice. xxx

I have to be with Kim and others about Perron Rigot, it is my favorite! I can put wax on both legs before removing no problems.

I don't have problems with the setting of the Euroblonde ( yet ):), I have had a try with Jet Set, and I found it no better or different than Euro Rose, so I will stick to ER.

The Berins waxes work out a little more expensive, the tins are smaller.

I have heard good things about the berins Clear it , Post Wax Lavender Essential Oil and the large plastic spatula they sell, and will be giving them a try asap.

If ever I found a wax better than what I used, I am not brand loyal! I would use it no problems.

But for now I am with Perron Rigot.
