Well, here I go...
I totally love minx and so do almost all my clients, although Im a liitle bit miffed that recently the sizes of the minx 'stickers' are now been made shorter.
I used to be able to make one sheet of minx last at least 2-3 clients but the minx has now been made a little wider :D, which is great but has unfortunately also been made shorter.....this has affected my profit in a big way, my business has just taken off in a great way but this is a major loss for me....
Anybody else noticed this or is it just me thats a big moaning minnie...

I noticed they are wider but can't say I've noticed they are shorter. Will look when I get home.

I've not noticed really. I'm the same, i'll look when i'm in the salon. Although, i'm a bit neato with stuff like that, and I keep my minx (used and unused) in a clear lidded box that is just about the right size, and I haven't notices the wrappers being any smaller at all if that helps. I'm intruiged now, i'll have a look. I've never re-used my minx, except for the odd full nail. i'll have a look now, see what I can do with it! x x

I've noticed the shorter length on the toe Minx.

maybe its so that they could make the minx wider ? which is a good move and have requested this often there are many designs which do not lend themselves to being put on sideways for wider toe nails - alot of my clients, including myself have had to "patch" certain minx designs or chosen a different minx (if that makes sense ?!)

also to be honest i think with the correct pricing there is enough profit without getting too greedy

you can use these new size minx more than once as the second size is similar if not the same as the previous first size, i have found these of more benefit than less to the original sizes

I've noticed they are wider, which is great for the big toes, but I'm not happy that they have also widened the ones for the little toes and they are now too wide for many of my clients and I have to cut them to size where they were perfect before, never happy eh x

Wider 'big-toe' Minx are certainly helping me, and I'm still managing to get 2+ sets out of each pack.
No complaints here!

I know....so I am a moaning minnie... I do only charge £15 per set for toes...so Im not trying to be greedy or anything.
Also, nothing could make me fall out with minx but just cant seem to make them go that bit further now they are a tidgey bit shorter.
On the plus side I am loving the wider shape x

We charge £15 for fingers and toes, just to get it up and running, and its been really popular for toes, not so much for fingers though. I went and checked the packs we have, and you are right about the width and length. But as someone said, we get at least 2 sets of toes out of each pack. ATM we prob have enough after 2 sets for another set again, so profit wise its working out. xx

£15 is very cheap for MINX. I charge £25 for toes and people are more than happy to pay this. MINX doesn't need an intro price as it's a beauty item that people are reading about and seeing everywhere!
They come to you asking for MINX, don't undersell the professionlism that you offer. xx:hug:

It just goes to show that you can't please all of the people all of the time.

It also goes to show that some people are just 'fools to themselves' with the silly prices they come up with for what is known as a top end service!! Put your prices where they should be (good luck with that one now that you've been at such a low end price) and you won't have to have a moan about your profitability!

Maybe it is Minx who should be having a moan about technicians who undervalue the Minx service and undervalue the reputation of the brand by doing so.

£15 for a set of minx? Omg is it worth doing it? There is no profit and no earnings out of that. I charge £35 for a set on toes and I have customers willing to pay that as my minx on toes always lasts over 8 weeks so clients think they are getting a bargain.
I dont see why your clients would be unhappy with the sizes they should be oblivious Its only if you have been having a moan about it to them that they would air their feelings...
I very rarely do fingers anymore as no demand and I advise clients its really for special occasions, a few times if they want fingers then I cap with L&P to make it last slightly longer.
How can you honestly charge £15 then complain about not being able to get more out of a set now that they have changed the sizing? I was a little dissapointed with them I have to admit but once I saw that now it doesn't matter what size my clients nails are I can find the perfect fit rather than turning them sideways as I used to I love the new sizing. And I still have enough left over to do either another set or a couple of french's with the leftovers.
Do yourself a favour and charge the proper prices then you will have no need to complain if any other changes come in.
Minx is a high end product and if you market it properly you will have clients biting your hands off at the correct price.
The mind boggles are you running a business or a charity?

wow.. £15 . ive done a few for friends at that just to practice.... but i was going to charge £2o... as i have no overheads . but im thinking i will be putting up prices now as its a long fidly process if they want a full mani/pedi Hmmmmm :o

Exactly what does minx say the value is inc a pedi... if it was stipulated at a price we couldnt charge under. for a set. fingers n toes , ile find it a whole lot easier as price wars in teeside are terrible.. lash extensions near me are 25 i still cahge £40. and thats cheap i think for the work and costs involved x:D

I've just ordered mine so can't comment on the size. There isn't a great deal of money where i live but I felt £20 ok for Minx. Someone came in yesterday, part of our society that ALWAYS say thays a bit expensive can you do it a bit cheaper for me.I said no so she told me she could get it done for £10 in Lancaster then waited at the door for me to cave in.Of course i didn't and said I didn't blame her for going to Lancaster and carried on with the nails I was doing.Someone might be doing something for £10 but I cant see it being Minx and the ******* cheek of it .AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH X I've decided having read this £25 would be better,

We don't do badly as nail techs. Cost of service should not be more than 13% which is a pretty damn good return on your product investment.

No one can dictate your prices but YOU. Just have the confidence to get it right.

great thanx geeg x

I noticed that the old 6s are now more a 4, if that makes sense? I deffo think bigger 1s, 2s, are great but hate the bigger other sizes. I always pre tailor minx anyhow but am finding lately I am having to pre tailor the smaller sizes alot more. I find alot of people are saying that they would like the minx rounded at both ends, I find I use the square end more and just take corners off as alot off little toes have straight sidewalls? does anyone else find this ? xx

I can actually feel my cheeks burning with embarresment after reading all your comments....:o

I know Im too cheap with my prices, I originally did my Creative L&P course over 10 years ago and have had children and got myself back up and running in business about a year ago.

However I am very good at my job and do not undersell my products and services, but how can I now suddenly tell everyone im putting my prices up???

Your suggestions would be greatly appreciated, as I want to keep my existing clients and dont want to now upset them with higher prices.

ps, I am mobile so thought I should be a little cheaper than salons and would rather be competitive and be busier....

Thanx in advance for your thoughts x

we charge 20 and other salons in our area charge 15 and 18 !!! we are losing clients over it but we are refusing to budge. I personally would love to charge 25, BUT we are rural and minimum wage rules most peoples wage packets round here and so its not possible.
