Just wanted to share mY frustration.
I sent a courtesy email to a past client of mine as it was coming up to 2 weeks since her enhancements and asking whether she wanted to book an infill.
She replied saying, no thanks, as 3 had 'fallen off' so she took the rest off!!!
Acrylics dont just 'fall off' as we all know.
I went through all the stages of prep and I was really pleased with her set.
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nails dont just fall off !! ...shows how much she cared about her nails because she picked the others off WITHOUT showing you or coming to you to fix the 3 that fell off........So dont worry hun xx

Even though it is extremely frustrating, as long as you are confident in your prep etc, Iwouldn't give it a second thought!

We all know nails don't just "fall off" and surely if they were that bad she would have called or come in to show you?

Don't let it worry you xx

Trouble is with clients they think they will last forever!!!

Some would rather make you feel like a bad tech then admit that they were a little skint that week and couldnt afford it. Not that i am saying this is the reason, the point im getting at is that it could be any reason behind it so dont beat yourself up about it hun xx

Thanks for all your comments.
Its just makes me feel bad when customers say things that are so ridiculous.
xx

My BEST MATE did this to me last week. I had her in the salon for a full set - free. (I'm practicing my creative brisa gel). So I saw her 2 weeks + 2 days later when we were out and she had lost one - fair enough, it happens - it was my second ever set of gels. So I rang her to arrange her infills and she was like 'oh, half of them just came off so I BIT the rest off' AAGH!!!!

I done my nieces nails the other day ...with in three days she texted me ...
one of my nails has fallen off what shall I do?
So I texted back..how did it come off....
I was doing my jeans up..she replied..
I said ..WOT WITH YER NAILS....that was the end of the conversation..heard no more.
She did say as well whilst I was doing her nails , she does chew them off!!

Well I wouldnt lose sleep over it or anything...but I would 'care'...after all...an unhappy customer is not only disappointing for you but could also jeopardise your reputation...so I would try to rectify the situation...I would send a really really nice e-mail back firstly by saying how sorry you were to hear that she was unhappy with her enhancements and that 3 had broken off....give some examples of why enhancements can break etc (maybe they were too long for her lifestyle?) and how it can be avoided etc, I would probably go on to say that because she has picked the others off she will have caused damage to her nails by doing this....(this is a good excuse/opportunity to get her back in) so finish with inviting her back to see you...say you would love her to come back in so you can take a look at her nails and discuss things further.

I would make one attempt to turn this situation round....I would avoid giving freebies or discounts but would try and give something to entice her back if you see what i mean.

But like I say...dont lose sleep...your bound to get clients like this from time to time.

Oh fabulous....my dogs just been sick on the carpet!

I know how it feels when clients ring to say their nails have popped off! It is so frustrating, especially when they look so nice. I also seem to be having problems with lifting. I use creative products and spend a fair amount of time prepping. I dont know what I'm doing wrong, can anyone help?

Well it is the usual thing isn't it? They break a few (sure you didn't make them too long for her lifestyle?) and then they 'even up' the others by biting them off. It was ever so and thus it will ever be ... bet you 1000 pounds she was a former biter .. maybe not a cannibal but a nibbler for sure. Peeps who love their nails never do things like that.

Well done you on your follow up of the client though. This is good business practise and at least you are not left wondering why she didn't return??? Keep her on your mailing list for your next special offer in the salon or your place of work and she'll be back.

When I had my first job as a nail tech, a client rang and was very annoyed that her daughter's nails had "fallen off", so I asked her to come in with her daughter for a new set and was absoltutely gutted as I was so fussy about my prep and took my time doing them.
When she came in with her daughter she told me she still had the nails so I asked her to show them to me and surprise surprise there was half the girl's nail plate at the back!! ... I explained to the lady that they couldn't possibly have fallen off as some of her nail was ripped off with the acrylic.
Her daugher then 'fessed up and said she bit them all off... he he I was so relieved:lol:

I offer a free repair service and if you break a nail I'll replace it free of charge... lucky for me I don't have to do that many, but it's amazing how clients will tell me the truth about what happed to their nails as they don't have to pay to have them fixed.
