Hi all,

I've been looking for a metal waxin spatular for ages now as i used on in my trade test once and thought it was great.Ive found one!!!

I am just wondering if anyone uses one of these? and if you are mobile, where do you put it when you are finished with it? I guess you could scrape a certain amount off but it will still be sticky.

What would you do with it to transport it to your next client?

Thanks xxx

I only use metal spatula's with strip wax. I have loads and put them in a container with solvent.

If you're mobile, wipe it on the wipe bar and the use a clean strip to wipe it. Then spray with solvent to get the last bit off. xxx

Brill thats fantastic Kim thanks for that!
I'll get on and buy it now!

What's the difference when using a metal spatula please? (Always keen to know if there's better equipment, products etc out there! lol)

I too use a metal spatula with strip waxing and just like Kim I have a few, however as I am using strip sugar paste mine just washes off in hot water.

Hi All,
Well I have seen a metal waxing spatula on holiday in Goa India, the girl was using a metal ordinary kitchen / butter knife ..............How about that?????
Makes you think.
Thank goodness I did my waxing before I got there for Hols, my sister in law was the one who had the treatment.
Lotsa luv x

:) I must say a metal spatula is fab, I did a 121 with Kim today had never used a metal one. It was so much smoother to use. Obviously Kim's technique was the main advantage. But i will be investing in one.

I got a couple of metal spatulas after using them at Kims, I thought they were fab... but when using them on a daily basis I found that they kept the wax a little too hot so I have gone now for the new berins one.. which is like a paddle but plastic... it has a super sharp edge like the metal ones .. but doesn't keep the wax too hot when applying.

Again.. its down to personal preference ... its a good job we have so much choice isnt it lol!!!

Oh my goodness! I'd have been outta there like a shot! But come to think of it, I suppose it would've done the job! xx

Too hot??? Never know that to happen. Mind you I do work quickly. Straight out the wax pot and immediately wiped onto the body.......no messing.

Are you standing it in the wax Jen? I don't understand how it keeps the wax hot.

I think its because I work quickly too and standing the spatula in the pot is making it retain the heat. I hate mess.. so I don't like to lay my spatula across the pot top between applying the wax ... hehe...

Oh I see. Just wipe it and rest it across the bar and there won't be any wax on there to run and get in a mess. xx

It was on a site called salon serve. It's the same size as a normal wooden spatula. I have seen the bigger ones but think il try the small one and see how i get on with that first xxx

LOL!! I don't have a bar Kim... and when I wipe it still gets the edges of my wax heater a little sticky... its just me Kim.. I prefer to keep the spatula standing in the pot ... :)

Hi guys :)

Interesting thread :)

I was wondering how you get around double dipping? With the normal wooden ones I dip, wipe and bin, then start with a fresh one.

xx

I don't double dip when I use non strip wax and wooden spatula's but I do double dip when I strip wax and a metal spatula. I only use this on general body parts and I know there's talk of bringing in no double dipping at all, but I think this is ridiculous. I've looked into this extensively and I've not found any evidence to prove that there's any risk to the client through double dipping. I choose not to double dip on intimate areas as I just don't like the idea of it.

It was probably a real beauticians waxing spatula, I'm sure she didn't butter her toast with it between treatment! There are a few that look like butter knives or icing spreaders but they do the job and are made for the purpose. You can relax and breath again x

What solvent do you use for the metal spatula?TIA!!

You just need to make sure you sterilise them. I soak mine in surgical spirit. xxx
