Thanks for the help in determining which days would be most ideal for the Top Secret Shindig. Moving on from that, I now want to ask another question...

The ideal scenario would be to have everyone and their dog at such an event, however that is not only unrealistic and prohibitively expensive, it would water down the experience for each attendee. So... what I am thinking here is to wrap the celebrations up around 2 solid days of one of a kind skill development and education. Kind of like a double decker sandwich filled with as much meat as one could handle.

So what I really want to know now... is how much would you be willing (if at all) to invest into your education and personal development over a weekend (with a kick ass celebration thrown in to boot)?

Hi there
IMO, edication is knowledge and knowledge is power... right? I think that the most important thing is how the education is delivered because if you pay a price to further your education you should expect to get what you paid for.

OK, I'm biased...but I have been an attendee at similar Creative events over the years and I DO know their worth...not only in development of skills but seriously in confidence-building and motivation...I would pay for myself and ALL of my staff whatever was deemed necessary to cover the cost of such an event.

Can't shut the salon on a Saturday though:eek:

Will you do a grant for us poorer geeks  If I had it I would pay a million but I would struggle with anything over £20 atm:lol:

I better go dig out that 12 year old mini skirt I have floating about the loft ...I think I am going to be doing some sucking up soon....1) for the money and 2) to be allowed to come lol...

This sounds like a super motivation event, just what I need. and I imagine a lot of the rest of us too...
Ooooo blimey its getting exciting :green:

Lell we should share, and smuggle in wearing one of them big overcoats ..you know the type I mean don't ya ?

I agree with lelli, your education is worth a million but it is hard times at the mo for most of us

I deffo wont be able to go but what a fab chance for anyone who can go :) If we do any free big geek meets count me in  I aint tight just skint lol

Well I voted but I guess it depends what level the event would be aimed at. I'm assuming its across all systems but would it be at all levels too?

I could maybe stretch to up to £400... if given sufficient notice about this and time to save. After all we have Professional Beauty in October that I'm already saving up for! :green:

Well I'm going to have to be realistic and say £100.

That is not a representation of what I would be willing to pay - you can't really put a price on quality education..........

But I know for deffo, that once I have added petrol and accommodation - which is likely to be £100+ - there is noway I would be able to spend more than £100 on the event..... my hubby would kick my butt!!

Well, it looks like I won't be going either  What a shame.

This sounds like a great idea, and would love you to count me in depending on the price as at the mo like everyone else we are feeling
the penny pinching!!!:)

For an event such as this I would pay up to £400 but feel £200 is realistic for most... AND let's put this into perspective...

That is only 5 FULL SETS of nails

Please don't tell me that you can't do 5 full sets of nails between now and October / Novemeber time??? I would wonder why you were on the site at all if that weren't possible!!

Put the money away and save it!! Only 5 full sets - plus the cool thing is - you have 100 odd days to do them and SAVE!! :!:

To me it's a no brainer - especially for what we have planned! :)

I am the 'course queen' :green: ( so i have been labled!) and....of course i am a party queen too:green:

So.....could we maybe elaborate - without spoiling it/giving to much away - about what we would get for the £200.

Is that the confirmed ticket price Sam?

I can feel a 'sneak' session of piggy bank raiding in the night being called for whilst minks asleep:eek::smack:

I voted £200, with enough notice I could save that amount.......

It would all come down to what we would get for the money laid out.

I would have to see more a specific list of what would be included for the money laid out.

I am sure it will be fab what ever, but I feel that some would get more form it than others with each individuals level of experience and training.

I'm thinking similarly to you, when flight tickets, travel, hotel accommodation and food are added together it isn't a cheap thing for me to do, not travelling from here anyway.
I doubt I could afford more than £100 but I'll have to see how it goes, especially with the financial climate over here at the moment.

Fingers crossed I can go.

£200-£300 would be ok.

but...i'll need to travel and book accomodation (unless it's in Scotland)So...the quicker i can do that, the better for prices of hotels and train tickets (too much alcohol consumption:rolleyes:, no driving).

So, an idea of dates would be really good...????? Even if you pm me, I woun't tell anyone honest!

I take it, it is open to all or is it product based?

One persons expensive isn't another persons....we are all in different boats. I don't think £100 - £200 for a shin diggin such as this would be expensive...but when you have alot of other commitments that need paying you do kinda have to prioritise.

I am going to start saving now...and see how it goes.

I have to say that with the state of the shows in recent times where i have forked out travel..accomadtion..spending... i would rather have not bothered and done this instead.

well i would be willing and able to invest £200 BUT of course would want to know exaxctly what i'd get out of it. my hope is that S2 will pull it out of the bag in a way we have not seen it before.
having worked in education myself i'm probably hyper critical of events - but am getting real excited - can't wait for the finer details.:green:

Can I come and work for you
